Speed & Control All Year Long
The Pirelli PZERO Race 4S TLR is their first ever year-long racing tire with tubeless technology able to provide high grip in all kinds of weather with increased puncture protection while still maintaining the racing characteristics of the PZERO Race range.
This result has been achieved thanks to SPEEDCORE tubeless technology, their latest evolution in terms of casing constructions, and SMARTNET Silica which holds the best formulation for wet and chemical grip among our compounds.
SPEEDCORE
This is the highest-performing tubeless-ready road casing in their range, with a unique design that adds an aramid band within the tire's rubber layer. This new structure adds strength and support to the casing but retains a supple feel for minimal rolling resistance and maximum grip compared to a tire with a full bead-to-bead aramid construction.
The tire also features a 120 tpi nylon casing for added puncture protection and maximum security.
SmartNET
Pirelli SmartNET™ Silica technology delivers high rolling efficiency, thanks to its natural anisotropic orientation, which reduces heating while increasing elasticity, to help minimize energy dissipation. That means you can enjoy highly reliable wet grip all year long in any temperature.
The wide surface of the silica rod molecules enhances its natural water affinity, delivering confident handling on wet surfaces.
As with the rest of the PZERO Race range, the PZERO Race 4S TLR is made in Italy in PIrelli's new Bollate factory.

Reviews
I bought a set of these to replace the Bontrager tires that Trek put on my new Domane. Had to, as I suffered a sidewall cut on the rear Bontrager, with instant deflation. The Pirellis have pretty decent reviews, but I suffered another sidewall cut with the rear tire. Not all the way through, but enough of a cut that I wasn't going to chance it. Bought another Pirelli, and rode it once with no issues, but came out a couple of days later to see the tire bead had crawled up and out of the rim, and was flat. Removed the tire, cleaned it and the rim real well, put the tire back on, with sealant, and inflated it to 62psi. Was holding the wheel in the air when the tire blew off the rim! Went through the same process to see if I couldn't get it to work, but added sealant after setting the bead this time, and it seemed to work for about 10 minutes, until the tire blew off again, blowing sealant all over my garage. That was it, for both these tires and tubeless... BTD did me right, by comping me for the purchase price, but I'll never buy Pirellis again.
I originally planned on just running this tire for the fall/winter season, but i like it so much i don't see a reason to switch to summer race tire. Puncture protection seems great, haven't had any yet, and i run TPU tubes (im over tubeless set ups). I run 30mm tires on Zipp 454 NSW wheels. Loving the set up and will probably switch my other bike to these when the GP5000s wear out.
