Built For Trail Wizardry
The Surly Dirt Wizard 29 x 3.0 Inch MTB Tire is an excellent choice for backcountry bikepackers or MTB riders who just love plowing through rock gardens. Although the Dirt Wizard is not the fastest tool in the bicycle shed, it sure is one of the toughest. With its nylon anti-cut sidewall insert, aggressive tread, and a new Surly rubber compound design, the Dirt Wizard outshines its competitors in terms of durability and grip on the trail. Loose, techy descents? No problem. Steep rooty climbs? Not so bad after all. Rocks and sand? Roll right through.
The Dirt Wizard's tread is composed of a dual row of aggressive, trail-gobbling knobs in the center and well-spaced, siped knobs to dig into loose corners. Designed to work on 50mm rims, Dirt Wizards are tall and wide, providing next-level cushioning. The 60 TPI casings are flexible and responsive, yet durable and supportive. The minimum rim size for these little warlocks is a 35mm outer rim width.
These tires also come tubeless ready — a necessity these days for running lower pressures without getting pinch flats. The lower pressures combined with the aggressive tread make these tires magic on singletrack.
