Description
Offering the pedigree without the price, SIDI's new Alba 2 Road Shoes are packed with advanced features that maximize performance and comfort.
Start with the vented Politex upper, which is constructed of several overlapping layers with different physical and mechanical properties. This compacted PVC material is coupled to two fabrics (knitted fabric and felt) that is film dyed for durable, long-lasting color retention.
Made in strict compliance with environmental regulations that have earned it a "green product" designation, Politex offers strong resistance to rips, lacerations, stretching and fading.
Distributing pressure evenly over the instep area is the Soft Instep 3 Closure System, a wide, anatomically curved strap combined with a soft, thermo-formed EVA pad. Adjustable from both sides, it centers the EVA pad over a high or low instep and eliminates the need for the High Instep Extender.
Delivering an optimal fit the entire length of the Alba 2 road shoe is SIDI's TECNO-3 System, which adapts the upper to the shape of the foot. The brand's famously reliable and replaceable closures are improved here by an all-new proprietary SIDI Wire material that is completely non-binding for intuitive and effortless on-the-fly adjustments. Like most SIDI small parts, the TECNO-3 Buckle and Soft Step Closure Systems are serviceable and replaceable.
Down below, a composite sole injected with molded carbon fiber in a matrix of nylon creates a lighter and stiffer sole that is less susceptible to changes because of aging or extended usage.
Though the men's and women's Alba 2 Road Shoes share the same overall design, the women's version is narrower across the ball of the foot, the instep area, and in the heel cup to better mimic the tapered contour of women's feet.
For amateur and intermediate cyclists that want speed and strength without the sticker shock, SIDI's Alba 2 Road Shoe is a smart way to take their training and racing to the next level.

Reviews
This is my 2nd pair of Sidi road shoes. My first pair were my go-tos for over 15 years. That's not too bad a life for shoes that were worn frequently!
The Sidis fit my foot very well and are easy to adjust, I highly recommend these shoes! (And the sparkle is fun!)
I have loved my Sidi Genius road shoe that I have worn for 13 years. When they finally started to wear out, I was looking for a replacement. The Genius is no longer available, but these new Alba shoes have been a great option to replace my old shoes. I'm looking forward to many comfortable miles in these shoes, as I had in the others. I'm hooked on Sidi cycling shoes!
Upgraded from a very old pair of Sidi Genius 5 - - the Alba 2 is a big improvement!! Sizing is consistent with my other Sidi shoes, and these fit great, very comfortable, with lots of room in the toe box area to fit my wide feet (and bunions, ugh!), but would probably be fine for a narrower foot as well, since there's a lot of adjustability with the 3 straps. The Sidi "Boa" device is a little different from other Boa fasteners, and the printed instructions were useless, but one of the guys at my bike shop explained to me how it works, and it's very easy. Also like the "bling-y" silver/reflective pad around the heel, which is both functional and very decorative! Great combination with the Speedplay Easy-Tension cleat, which is actually quite walkable, and like the fact that Sidis have a replaceable heel plate, so the shoes will last longer.
Bought these to replace my well-worn Sidi Women's Genius 5, and have them set up with Speedplay Easy Tension Cleats (for Speedplay Zero pedals). I have a normal/average heel but need a wide toe box (due to bunions), and these shoes are very supple, adjustable and comfortable - - as well as very attractive (for a cycling shoe!). The ankle area and front strap have a glittery finish, which I assume is reflective, to improve visibility in the dark (and a great idea!) but is also a decorative and fun touch. I ordered the same size (38, which equates to a U.S. women's size 6.5) as my older Sidis and the fit is absolutely perfect. My only complaint (a minor one) is that the printed instructions for loosening/tightening the "boa" style release were difficult to understand, and apparently the "boa" on Sidis operates a little differently from those on other brands, but one of the guys at my local bike shop showed me how to work them and it's very easy (and they work great!). Really can't go wrong with Sidi shoes!!
