An Ikonic Tire For Ikonic XC Trails
Sometimes you just need a lightweight tire that rips. Introducing the Maxxis Ikon 29" EXO/TR MTB Tire.
When you want to outfit your rig with a fast tire for all conditions, the Ikon should be first in line. Maxxis describes the Ikon as their "true racing tire" due to its weight and ability to perform well in dry hardpack, wet mud, and loose gravel. The ample knobs on the tire give it top-performing grip, but unlike other tires of its class, the Ikon knobs are smaller to reduce rolling resistance.
Weighing only 724 grams per tire, the Ikon adds less rolling weight than other similar tires in its class. This means that you get more speed for your pedal output.
These tires are also outfitted with EXO Protection, which is an extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. EXO Protection is perfect for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high.
If you want an all-season, all-condition, cross-country tire that'll help you snatch your PR or the podium — try the Ikon.
