Haven't had to use it......yet, but this seems to be a solid tool. The rubberized mounting bracket however I would not trust it any more than my chances of hitting the lottery. Put it in your tool stash or bike bag for safe keeping. I may be wrong about the bike mount....but I'm not taking that chance. The bike mount is the only reason for a reduced 4 star vs 5. The tool itself is a 5 but I don't know what the thought was other than knowing you would lose it and you would need a replacement. As for Bike Tires Direct, 6 stars out of 5 as always!
The carbon kit is well built, solid, and crazy weightless -- it's like air. Though the strap looks pretty strong, I wouldn't trust it, and really don't need to. I just slip the thing in my pocket and it's completely forgotten that it's there. I've not yet had the opportunity to use, but have read the instructions and practiced with it on my practice tire (just so I've some experience with it when the real-world moment comes). Works perfectly for me. It's so light, you might get the impression it will break or crack. But, it works as described. Again, my suggestion, if you get the kit (and you should get it), would be to waste a tip and practice. And, get some spares.
I love the dynaplugs. I got to test them out when I put a big cut in my gravel bike tire. Dynaplug says that it's a permanent fix, so I did a bit of an experiment. The plug sealed immediately and continued to work for over 200 miles. Finally failed when the tire started to rip.
The downside...No way the flimsy mount holds the device on a bumpy gravel ride. No matter though. It's tiny and easy to store in a more secure place.
I haven't had to use this tool yet. I bought it after having a tubless puncture that wouldn't seal with just sealant. It's really small and lightweight; hopefully it keeps me having to call for help again. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I like the bottle cage holder and the tool hasn't fallen out over several hundred miles. I'm riding on paved roads. If I were riding gravel or single track, I would have a different view.
After using several brands tubeless plugs over the years for gravel and MTB, dynaplug is definitely the easiest to use/carry and get the job done. I'm also a fan of the nifty bottle cage holder
