I have been a long, longtime user of Look pedals primarily for their "freer feeling" float versus Shimano, which my now-funky left knee demands. For years I fussed with their removable cleat covers in order to preserve the life of the cleats. Look finally offered walkable versions with anti-slip pads; however, those proved to lack durability and required changing out far more frequently than Shimano. The latest version promises smoother action and much greater durability. I am eager to find out if the claims are true. I am currently on my last pair of cleat-covered, and as soon they wear out I will be giving the new ones a go. Stay tuned for a follow up.

I've been riding EggBeaters on my mtb and gravel bikes since the day they were first released because of the generous float they provided that gave my funky left knee the relief it demanded. However, the common complaint with CBs was the lack of solid platform and the connected, locked-in feeling that you got from SPDs. That larger, solid platform was immediately noticeable on these new Looks. Entry and exit feels exactly like Shimano. Alas, my finicky knee demanded more float than these offered; hence, I sold them to a friend. He loves them!

I have been riding a Tarmac with Ultegra mechanical group set. The Ultegra di2 is a major upgrade. Having wider tires and a longer wheelbase improved the comfort of my ride significantly. Axle to axle the Look 765 is 2 inches longer than my tarmac.
In a size large this bike came with 110mm stem and a 135mm saddle. Both had to be changed. I also dropped the bars a little. This required shortening hoses which was done at local bike shop after fitting.
After the changes i am really enjoying this bike. I ride mostly on paved bike trails and country roads. It rides smooth and quiet and looks good too.

I've tried to use cheap off-brand replacement cleats, but they never work as well as the branded ones from Look or Garmin. These engage and disengage perfectly, as they should. The rubber padding on the bottoms is less slippery than the typical, harder plastic. I don't know yet how long they will last. For my typical training, I don't walk around that much. However, when we get into the summer with some long events, I'll be stomping around feed stops where the cleats usually get chewed up. This is also the first time I used the grey float, usually using the red. When it comes time to replace the cleats on my other road shoes, I'll go with these again.
