The Silca Pre-Waxed Race Chain is the raceday solution to get every last watt onto the road. The chain is optimized and waxed with Secret Chain Blend saving 30% over competitor chains.
Chains are stripped of all factory grease, ultrasonically cleaned, then hot waxed with Secret Blend Hot Melt Wax. I bought this chain before purchasing the Silca Wax System. I didn't install it for several weeks while I waited on some other parts to completely overhaul my drivetrain. The chain was easy to install and the wax held up for several hundred miles before I topped it off with Secret Blend Lube. I could have waited another hundred or so miles before using the Secret Blend Lube as the chain was still clean and had plenty of wax still on it. This is a great chain to try out if you're considering trying out waxing, on standby as a spare or in your Mech./SAG bag or toolbox on multi-day rides or triples.
I love that this chain comes out of the box already waxed, just slap it on. Careful though, once you buy this chain you'll quickly want to wax all your other chains and you'll be buying wax and a waxing system in no time.
Yes, you can clean and wax your own chain. But, even with the best and easiest products, it still can be time-consuming. To have a pre-waxed ready to install chain available for a special events or travels is incredibly useful.
