The MX 145 from Lake features boot-style construction and Lake’s MX Sport Last design for a durable, comfortable, and performance-oriented winter cycling shoe. The upper is made from waxed canvas, leather, and a waterproof membrane resulting in a virtually waterproof shoe that keeps feet warm and dry. MX Sport Last offers a little more space in the toe box than Lake’s Comfort Last while facilitating greater control at the vamp (top of feet/shoe) and heel. With improved comfort and control, this shoe is ideal for extended periods of riding that require precision and lasting comfort.

decent light boots for cold and wet weather
these shoes have worked well in below 0 weather so far this winter, on cold wet days, and seem like they'll be good for wet rides in warmer weather. they're reasonably light. with some good wool socks, they do a good job blocking wind and keeping feet warm. i haven't ridden in drenching rain conditions yet, but they've kept my feet dry in wet snow and moderate rain with lots of puddles around. sizing seems weird on these. my normal road shoes are sidi, size 43.5, and fit like gloves. i ordered 44 in these and had to exchange for a 45. these fit better, but there's no heel cup, so the fit's a little weird in the back. it sort of feels like putting your foot in a chimney. maybe it will break in over time and feel less like they're going to wear holes in my socks heels. regardless, i'm pleased with these shoes so far.
