Reviews
Available in wide which is what I need. Seems just a little wider than the Sidi Mega, and a good bit wider than the wide Shimano shoe.
I like the BOA lace system. It seems secure and is a lot easier to use than the Sidi two winder per shoe system.
I don't know whether they will hold up, but so far (2000 miles) so good.
Think twice about getting white, because they scuff just by looking at them.
My feet gained volume with age, which meant no more narrow Italian road shoes. Needed to go wide. I wore Lake for cyclocross back in the day (loved the shoes) and read somewhere that Lake had the best wide shoes. Headed over to Bike Tires Direct and, sure enough, they had them at the lowest price. Shoes are very comfy; recently finished a weeklong, 400-mile tour without issue. Looking forward to buying the mountain version of CX177 when it becomes available on biketiresdirect.com. I know the price will be competitive.
I have hundreds of miles on this shoe by now, and I like it a lot. It's simple, stylish, and comfortable'even though I have fairly wide feet. Just a good shoe all around, for a decent price.
