Review by AnonymousReviewed 5/26/2022by AnonymousCycling EnthusiastGreat brake padsThese came with my road bike (105); I didn't buy them from BikeTiresDirect. They're so quiet and have great stopping power, so much better than the brake pads that came with my commuter bike which also has disc brakes (Tourney). I climb a lot (like I find the Strava monthly 7500 m climbing challenge too easy) and I brake a lot in urban areas as well as there're so many stop signs and traffic lights. The rear one lasted over 1800 miles; actually I'm not sure if it was really all that worn down as I never checked it myself and the mechanic replaced it when I dropped my road bike off for a tune up. Like most people, fearing flying over the handlebar, and especially that I'm right handed, I brake more with the rear brake. The front one still has some life left after over 3800 miles, but I should replace it soon. I really love these brake pads. Too bad they're so hard to get. Or no wonder they're so hard to get and are gone as soon as they're available.

Review by FBReviewed 9/3/2020by FBCycling EnthusiastRolesville, NCLO3A Resin pads a big improvment.I live in a very hilly area and in the summer it gets very hot here in North Carolina. The added heat sink helps keep the temps controllable with all of the downhill runs I have. Wish I could put them on my other bike but they don't make them for the Sora line. These pads were a noticeable improvement the first 1/4 mile I rode with them.I highly recommend them.

I would like to get a bit more wear out of these. That would be my only complaint. Otherwise good pads.

Review by AnonymousReviewed 9/1/2020by AnonymousCycling EnthusiastSeattleNice upgrade over my old padsreplaced metallic pads with these. They are way thicker than the ones I used previously. I personally think they are smoother, quieter and easier to modulate on downhills. Can't speak to wear yet. Easy install using a plastic tire lever to push the hydraulic pistons back.

Review by billvauReview for Shimano L02A Resin Disc Pads with Cooling FinsReviewed 4/29/2019by billvauCompetitive RacerNorthern Ca. 1 of 3 customers found this review helpful.Work great. Give great, hard brakingAfter checking all the competing pads available, I found most reviews pointed to sticking with Shimano's OEM pads. The original set lasted long and didn't have any negative impact on the rotors. So...I'll keep buying these.

They are very, very easy to remove, inspect, clean andor sand if necessary - perhaps a bit easier to service than rim brake pads due to access. But that is open to debate. Cooling fins are not necessary for flatland use. I cannot comment on effectiveness for long hill or mountain descents.

As long as you can do your own maintenance the cost to wear differential is worth a quite ride.

The L03A pad wears more slowly than the prior Shimano resin pad, with easily equal power. In fact, the newer pad seems to have a small increase in absolute braking power. In all meaningful parameters, the new pad is an improvement.

I ride my bicycles in all weather conditions, including brutal downpours in the Pacific Northwest, mud, gravel, and grime. The Moots is no exception. These Resin pads replaced the Metal pads which were on the bike originally. They have great stopping power, and are easier to modulate than their Metal counterparts. However, Metal pads will stop harder and in harsher conditions. Make sure that you buy the ones you need before you order. Generally... I run Resin during fair-weather times of year, and Metal during drenchy, drippy winter conditions. Resin pads wear a bit faster in exchange for better control over stopping power (and less wear on rotors.)

Review by AnonymousReviewed 11/26/2020by AnonymousCycling EnthusiastChicago suburbsNice replacement pads for Shimano hydraulic brakesThe Shimano L03A replacement brake pads offer good stopping power with fairly quiet performance. Too early yet to evaluate Shimano's claims that the L03A pads last significantly longer than the L02A pads that they replace. However, even if the L03A longevity is as good as their predecessors, then I consider them very good.

Review by ajwilkReviewed 9/12/2020by ajwilkCycling EnthusiastPortland, ORHi quality replacement parts from Shimano.Though I am relatively new to disc brakes, I was very pleased at how easy the replacement of disc brake pads was. Just follow the steps Shimano provides, and the task is done in 5-10 minutes per set. Easy!

Review by LarsReviewed 1/10/2020by LarsCycling EnthusiastSeattle, WAThese pads have been performing as advertised for the 4 months I've had them while cycling the hills around Seattle. These pads don't look much different but I can tell they are lasting longer already. No squealing except when riding in the rain and they all do it then,

Bought them to replace metal pads that squealed like crazy. These are quieter, but they still squeal. I don't know that it's the pad's fault though, I think maybe the rotor Shimano uses for their Ultegra set just might be noisy in the rain. In any case, it is an improvement.
