Speed For The Road Ahead — All Of Them
Zipp's 303 S Firecrest Tubeless Disc-brake wheelset provides today's cyclists the versatility they demand with the speed they crave.
Expanding greatly on its heritage of conquering the Spring Classics, this 303 wheelset maintains its ideal-for-every-terrain 45mm rim depth but adds a significantly wider internal width to provide greater performance and ride quality in almost every measurable way. Road bikes are more versatile than ever, no matter the road surface, but just as fast as before. The 303 S offers an entirely new rim profile and design to optimize rider performance on this new breed of bike.
This wheelset is tubeless for disc-brake bikes, allowing the ability to run wide tires at lower pressures for race-ready speed on or off the pavement.
Lightweight. Aero. Gravel-Ready.
The 303 S is among Zipp's lightest wheelsets, optimized for top aero performance with a 28mm tire but capable of handling gravel tires up to 50mm wide.
The key innovation is in the 303 S's rim design. Its 45mm rim depth is the same as its predecessor, the 302 Disc brake. But its external rim width is 2mm wider, at 27mm, and its tire bed is a full 7mm wider, at 23mm internal width. That rim platform is designed to be the fastest with a 28mm tire. The wide rim optimizes tire profile to allow lower tire pressure. That helps to reduce rolling resistance and provides a more compliant ride. The result of all this is a 10 watt savings vs. a top peer wheel in total power required to ride 40kph on a flat road with a 28mm tire, according to internal Zipp testing.
This groundbreaking wheelset also features all-new cosmetics, setting the rider apart from the pack, and comes at an attractive price.

Reviews
After too many months of looking at 303s (even adding them to a shopping cart on more than one occasion) I decided it was time.
A classic case of I should have done it sooner
Sure there are lighter wheels on the market. Or sure you can convince yourself that your stock wheelset is good enough. A ton of ways to look at it. Suffice it to say these are legit. Im running 40mm schwalbe all-arounds which feel like the perfect complement for an all-around wheel set
Glad I pulled the trigger. BTD continues to be outstanding as well.
I'm using these wheels on a 2019 Specialized Allez (artist's edition) frameset with 105 mech. Already, my average speed has gone up by 2 mph while still maintaining normal (Z2-3) power on rides. I'm rolling with Conti 5000 tubeless tires, and the ride is incredibly smooth and fast. I use these wheels on a daily basis and I'm having a blast. So happy I bought these when they were on sale. I've wanted a pair of carbon wheels my entire adult life, and finally, after 25 years, I pulled the trigger. Don't know why I waited so long.
As an older rider, I'm certainly late to the tubeless, hookless thing ... so it was with hesitation I went for Zipp Hookless and Conti tubeless. That said, I ain't going back! This a butta set-up w/ 30s in back at 57psi and 28s in front at around 55psi. I'm not a total fat ass old guy @ 165 lbs, so I'm able to keep the pressure low, roll quietly with this whisper Zipp hub, and impress all my buddies w/ the stealth look and my comfy Strava rides. Who said getting old sucks when all this new stuff makes it better
These wheels have been outstanding with 28mm road tires and up to 45mm gravel tires. Tubeless setups are a breeze and have consistently and reliably held air. The rim depth provides a good aero boost without being too twitchy in the crosswinds. The hubs and weight aren't exactly top tier, but for the price I can't complain.
I've wanted Zipp wheels my entire cycling life and now I finally own a set. They ride very nice and have a low rotational weight. Most people buy these for the aero benefit but I'm old and slow so I don't really notice a huge difference. I am riding 32mm Schwalbe Pro 1 tire which set up tubeless with ease. I've done tons of tubeless set ups for road, mountain and cyclocross. Without a doubt this was the easiest tubeless set up that I've ever done. There are YouTube videos showing guys setting these up with a standard floor pump but in my experience a compressor is the only way to go. Remove the valve core and use your compressor along with the appropriate fitting. If you do it this way you'll find the tire bangs right into place. At least the Schwalbes did. I also had no difficulty getting the tire on the rim. Another bonus is that good rim tape comes factory installed and the valve stem is of good quality. I really love these wheels. They look cool and ride great!
Zipp 303 S Tubeless Carbon Disc Brake Wheelset. Totally awesome. I use these wheels for Cyclocross / Gravel racing. theyre very strong and sexy!! I would recommend to anyone.
This is my first pair of carbon wheels so I don't have much to compare them to other than my old Mavic Alloy wheelset that they replaced. My average pace has increase 2-3 mph on rides, which is probably more due to the aero rather than weight savings. Comfort has improved significantly since I'm running my tires 10 psi lower. Overall, these were definitely worth the price, especially with the lifetime warranty.
One thing to be aware of is that I had a lot of problems getting the tire bead to seat on the rim. I put Pirelli P-Zero TLRs on them, which where super-easy to get onto the rim without tire levers. However, I needed to resort to compressed air to blast the bead into place. This was not an issue at all with my hooked Mavic rims.
I got these wheels with their RT28 tires and it was simple to install. I like the feeling of the bike now that I can run them at lower pressure (in my case 55psi front and 58psi rear). They are super comfortable and have made me at least 1-1.5mph faster.
Upgraded from the stock DT Swiss R470db wheels on my Roubaix. Huge difference! Feel like I am flying up inclines.
Mounted them with 30c Schwalbe Pro One tires. Smoothest ride ever.
Installed on my Trek Emonda SL6 and it transformed the bike from something I was going to sell, to my new favorite. These are a game changing wheelset. I am genuinely faster on climbs with these. As a nice bonus, I am also much more confident on descents and higher speed cornering on these as well.
