The Ultimate Race-Day Tire
If you can find a better tire for crushing PRs or breaking away from the pack on race day, please let us know. The Veloflex ProTour RACE Tubular Road Tire is one of the best we sell, and, with a supple 350 TPI (Threads Per Inch) Corespun casing, it's designed specifically for providing top race-day performance. The tread is made of a compound with natural rubber and SiO2 that improves grip and road handling. It is also equipped with an anti-puncture protection belt and an exclusive latex air chamber, for improved elasticity in every condition.
All Veloflex tubulars are handmade in Italy through a process that consists of 35 rigorous artisanal steps, starting from the raw material and the different components (yarn, latex, rubber, glue, valves). Manual skill is key to their manufacturing process and no tubular is identical to another.
Despite this being an ultra-light race tire, Veloflex was careful to incorporate the Calicot protection barrier, which prevents most minor abrasions and cuts from puncturing the inner tube.
Whether you're a weekend warrior trying to beat your buddies up hills, or a road racer looking for a little edge on the competition, Veloflex has you covered with this tubular. Just be sure to carefully install the tire, and if you have not installed a tubular before, we strongly recommend taking it to a good bike mechanic. Tubulars can be tricky!
