The SRAM Red eTap Blip Shift Buttons allow you to shift from anywhere you want. Simply place the Blips where you want and plug them into your shifter or BlipBox and you're ready to ride. Working with SRAM's wireless AIREA satellite technology, the Blips can be placed under the bartape or out in the open and offer instant shifting from anywhere in your cockpit. Why stop at 2 Blips? The eTap system supports up to 4 blips for nearly limitless remote shifting positions.
Claimed weight: 16 grams, includes 2 blips. Available in 150mm, 230mm, 450mm or 650mm cable length versions. Only compatible with SRAM Red eTap drivetrains.

Find these very helpful especially on those long climbs when I dont have to reach for the hoods to change gearsi have them mounted facing rear wards on the handlebars ,so my thumbs fall naturally on the buttons.Would suggest you experiment with what is the most comfortable and ergonomic position based on how u ride ,System itself works well
Being able to put the shifter where I wanted it was a major selling point for eTap to me. I've wanted to shift with one hand for years, and at last I can. These blips let me add a left shifter on my right brake hood. I just love it! I do with the buttons clicked or snapped a little so the had some tactile feedback. But still, they are well worth the price.
You are only paying for the licencing of proprietory telemetry.At close quarters you would be vulnerable to riders overriding if your drive train has 2-way FM band.A 10$blue tooth would suffice for the coach monitoring the cyclists' vital the bike's mechanical perameters
