Engineered For The Perfect Fit
Stepping the innovation up from Sidi's famous Genius 7 model, the new Genius 10 dials in a flawless fit by adding dual Tecno 3 Boa closures.
The Genius 10 utilizes Sidi's Soft Instep Closure System is a wide, anatomically curved strap combined with a soft, thermo-formed EVA pad that distributes pressure evenly over the instep area. The fit system is adjustable from both sides, to perfectly center the EVA pad over a high or low instep. The system eliminates the need for the High Instep Extender and what's more, it is fully replaceable should it wear out.
Sidi's Tecno 3 Boa system dials in fit along the entire length of the shoe, adapting the upper to the shape of the foot for a customized fit and feel.
Sidi's famously reliable and replaceable closures are improved by an all new proprietary Sidi Wire material that is completely non-binding for intuitive and effortless on-the-fly adjustments. Like most Sidi small parts, the Tecno 3 system is serviceable and replaceable.
The Genius 10's sole is an innovative blend of nylon and injected carbon fiber. The result is a featherlight and stiff sole optimized for efficient power transfer. The sole's midsection is millimetrically graduated to facilitate precise cleat position.

Reviews
After a couple thousand miles the shoe is as durable and comfortable as my prior Sidi shoes which lasted many many thousands of miles. Stiff soles have great power transfer and comfort. The Boa closures instead of buckles is nice without being overly complicated to tighten and loosen. The top strap and tongue are softer and shaped differently than my older Sidis, so break in was really fast. My only issue is the insole liner is really thin and created hot spots on hard and or long rides. I got some Specialized BG inserts and they were much more comfortable. I have really wide feet and used to use Mega width but these standard width shoes fit fine. Very happy with spending the extra $ for a quality product that should last for a very long time.
After a few rides, these are great. The fit is consistent with other Sidi's I've worn but a bit more snug thanks to the Boa system. I have a low-volume foot with bunion problems, and this shoe can be snugly tightened without too much pressure across my forefoot, more like a hug for your whole foot.
I have previously had Sidi shoes and have high expectations for their shoes. These are a great shoe overall, comfortable from the start and over long rides. Not soreness or hot spots. I do apparently have narrow feet, so I have to adjust them quite a bit, and the fit results in wrinkling on the toes. And the Techno 3 BOAs are difficult to adjust while riding (have to find the bump on the dial to flip up the lever to adjust). But those are minor issues to an overall great shoe. I would buy them again.
Here is my 3 month 2,604 mile review of the Sidi Genius 10. The shoe is very well designed, starting from the top strap and its Tecno 3 Boa closure. The shoe allows you to slide a locking one-way strap toward the inner side of the shoe that corresponds to your foot size. The sizes are printed directly on the strap. Wear a size 9? Slide the strap until you reach the "9" and you are set, and then the Boa dial will feel as though the shoes were custom made for you. I like my shoes snug, and this feature makes the Sidi Genius feel like they were custom made just for me. The two Boa dials allow me to get my shoes feeling perfect during a long ride, and they are a cinch to adjust at a red light or a brief stop. I like thing to feel perfect, so it's not uncommon for me to fiddle with my shoes before a ride and even during the first few miles. I did add the Sidi Comfort-fit insoles as I just feel Sidi could have provided a better insole for this shoe. I do wear very thin cycling socks and do a lot of hill work, so that could be the cause of the hot spots in the ball of my left foot before the Comfort-fit insoles. These shoes really are fantastic, and I was able to pick them up at an amazing Gold Express price that was too good to be true. I am glad I bought these Sidi road shoes, and highly recommend them.
Shoes are a very personal thing, everyone is different in their needs. Sidi shoes always fit me well and the quality is impeccable. With some care they last for years and years. Sidis may cost more up front but they are a great value. They are like a work of art!
Here is my 304 mile review. I bought these on sale here on BTD at an unbelieveable sale price a few weeks back. I have always wanted a pair of SIDI road shoes, and could not pass the sale price. At just over 300 miles throughout the last half of March 2023, I could not be happier with the fit, the stiffness, and the comfort. I was not however over-impressed with the standard thin "blue" insole that SIDI provided with the shoe, so I bought the "comfort insole" and that solved the minor hot spots that were just enough of a pain to bother me. I am sticking with this shoe. It feels great, and their dual Boa closures, combined with the "squeeze" to release are great. The SIDI Genius 10 is a fantstic road shoe.
So what is in it for $300? First thing that caught my attention? The feel. It fits too good. Ive been used to a shoe, and a very good shoe, but a lesser shoe. It fits so good it made me second guess it. I adjusted the boas repeatedly. I tried it on with a wool sock. I tried it on with no sock. I think we get so used to the things we use everyday. That makes change hard. But not impossible. Its not narrow. I have plenty, not too much room at the toe. It feels like a slipper. It looks small too. The same size shoe(43) in my current road shoe are a bit bigger. The boas adjust precisely. Pinch and release, crank them to snug it down. There isnt any information as to size recommended on this site. I dont think I found it exactly on Sidis sight either. 43 read 8.8 on the box. They are Italian so take it for what its worth. I installed my Speedplay cleats and did a few laps to get them positioned just right. Bottom line. Probably worth more than $300.
Shoes are super comfortable, and the best fitting I've found.
SIDI, please license the BOA dials!! I will typically tighten the closures while riding, but SIDI's are nearly impossible to adjust on the move. You have to consciously pull up on the lever (which is impossible to find while riding), then give them a turn. On the other hand, BOAs are so much more intuitive. Just crank to tighten, and pull out to release.
I've been looking for new cycling shoes for over a year. I finally settled on these after looking at many others. They are made well, but a bit uncomfortable to me. They have a pretty high arch which for me works, but quite noticable. They are quite stiff and hopefully time will break them in to be a bit more flexible. They'll be a bit snug on your feet if you have wide feet....I mean they're Italian after all. I find Italian products run tighter than normal. All in all, nice shoes... But I think they're still a little too pricy. My Louis Garneau shoes lasted me almost 10 years for $70. I was done with ratcheting plastic buckles though and wanted a nice new pair with BOA style tightening. These Tecno-3 dials are great. They will be challenging to tighten while riding as you have to flip up the tab to twist them. Looks to be a good cycling shoe, only time will tell.
I've ridden with SIDI shoes since the beginning of time, at least when I started riding. The cleat was recommended to me by an avid cyclist 40 years ago. I've owned a couple of pairs of SIDIs. The last S-Pro (I believe that's the name, and I've used it for 10 years, and they still look new). Fast forward, last year, I decided to change things up and go with a lace-up version cleat. My mistake, as the shoe cleat plate, dislodged twice from the plate. I replaced them with the Genius 10 and couldn't be happier. The techno-3 system perfectly adjusts to the right fit. The shoe is perfect, and glad I returned to the SIDI brand. Adjusting the shoe during a ride is challenging. It's better to adjust a stoplight/sign.
This is my third pair of Genius road shoes. The fit is good and I like the new techno fasteners, though tightening them on the fly is not as easy as my Genius 7 shoes. Also, I am glad to read some other reviews regarding sizing. Like several others, I found I needed to go a half-size down to get the correct fit. In this regard, I would like say thanks to Bike Tires Direct for being patient with me while trying to test the fit between a size 45 and 44.5.
Long time user of Sidi shoes.
My last pair Lasted 15 years and we're still usable but I figured it was time for a new pair. They fit like fine Italian leather gloves.
I was looking for a comfortable (yet stiff) road shoe to replace my aging set of Lake shoes. I tried several different brands over the course of a few months and finally found these Sidi shoes. At first I thought that they might be a little narrow but was pleasantly surprised to find that they fit perfect! They are wider in the toe box area the Fixik or Shimano. For me, they have also proved to be very comfortable. I look for shoes that are both good at power transfer and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The build quality is also top notch. I would highly recommend these shoes.
I have ridden Sidi shoes for over a decade, as they comfortable and hold up great year after year. Although the wearable parts are replaceable, the only thing I have ever had to replace is the heel pad.
I wanted to move on from Velcro and the clunky (but durable) ratcheting buckle to a more modern Boa-like mechanism, so I upgraded from a 3 year-old pair of Genius 7 shoes to these. The Genius 10 shoe looks much better, and fits better than the Genius 7. The Sidi Tecno-3 mechanism works very well to get a secure, and evenly snug fit across the whole foot. However, like another reviewer noted above, I think that the Genius 10 shoe is just a bit longer than the Genius 7. In the Genius 7 a size 45.5 fit me perfectly, but a 45.5 in the Genius 10 was just a few millimeters too long, so I returned them for a size 45 - which is perfect. The Genius 10 is also plenty wide in the standard D width for me. Overall, these are great shoes for the cycling enthusiast, comparable to $400 shoes in other competitive brands.
My cycling shop owner suggested the Sidi brand road shoe after I asked Bill what he would buy. Turns out both he and his wife use Sidi brand road shoes - and have for years. After quickly receiving my shoes from Bike Tires Direct I couldnt wait to try them. They were comfortable and intuitive to use from day one. And so comfortable! Love the boa fasteners, so easy to tighten and loosen. I got white and black shoes - very cool looking with my kits. I would agree with Bill that you cant go wrong with Sidi (they are Italian).
Finally decided to go with a white road shoe. The Genius 10 Sidi's were on sale, they look cool and the reviews were great so I bought a pair in my size and they fit perfectly (I especially liked learning the toe box has been redesigned larger which made my size choice easier). Slight learning curve with adjusting the Tecno 3 Boa closures on the bike but I got it now. Love the shoes. Should have gone white years ago ;)
Great shoes, great fit. Not as stiff as others, but actually that makes the shoe more comfortable. They really don't need to be like a board! Everything about the shoe is very well thought out. They're expensive compared to others, but I guess you get what you pay for. Sizing seems 1/2 size large, but I like a snug fit for road shoes.
