Description
A favorite of roadies, commuters, and randonneurs
A rain jacket is only as good as its waterproof membrane, and thanks to Showers Pass' proprietary Artex waterproof-breathable membrane (coupled with fully taped seams), the Transit CC provides an effective barrier from the elements.
Even when temperatures rise, the Artex membrane allows body heat to ventilate freely, while the membrane remains impermeable to exterior moisture. And to ensure performance and comfort, while avoiding the dreaded "clammy" jacket, the Transit CC features brushed interior fabric for soft-to-the-touch feel. For greater temperature regulation, a large rear vent and strategically positioned core vents with waterproof zippers make it easy to cool down when you begin to heat up.
To deliver on Showers Pass' sustainable goals, the Transit CC jacket features Clean Color Technology using Bluesign System approved dyes, which keep harmful chemicals out of the manufacturing process, protecting people and the planet.
Designed and constructed with versatility in mind, the Transit CC jacket is perfect for cycling, hiking, or urban adventuring.

Reviews
I am big. This is one of the few cycling jackets available in a size that fits me - I have the 2XL. I live in SE Michigan and actually use the jacket as an everyday coat. It's waterproof, windproof, and very breathable and tough as nails. As outer layer of a tee shirt, shirt, sweater, and jacket grouping it is good year round. The Showers Pass Transit is better than the Gore-tex shell I used to wear. I recommend it so highly this is actually the second I've bought after waiting over a year for the 2XL size to come available again!
I am a long time commuter turned long distance touring rider. This is my third Shower Pass rain jacket. I use this jacket on both training and touring rides. Except for the reflective sections, it is all yellow rather than yellow and black as the prior two jackets were. The fold down rear flap is reflective and a good improvement as are the Velcro spots that hold the flap in place when not needed. The sleeves are a bit shorter than the earlier two jackets of the same size but still sized appropriately for me. (My dress shirt size is 16.5 x 37.) I also have Transit rain pants and a Shower Pass hood.
This is my third Showers Pass jacket. Third, because I like their products so much, they wear well and maintain newness well. And like a good martini - bone dry.
If you're into retro old style thick rubber yellow raincoats you wore in kid times, you'll love the look of this jacket and the material is so much better: soft and sporty. But, as its description suggests, it is best for a commuter-type rider in an upright position. I bought it for riding a road bike on a mountain, to keep off the cold wind and rain, thinking it would be thick and heavy. Nope. it's light and a little short in the front, and the wind tends to blow through it. Extra material in front must be for super layering or a beer belly, but my crotch area got soaked the other day because the front can't be pulled lower (it just bunches up). Still, it such nice material, I keep using it, just for the feel of being a kid again. And hoping someday I will live in an area where I can ride to the grocery store in comfort.
I love everything about this coat with one nagging exception...the sleeves are a bit too narrow at the wrist making it a little tight to quickly slide on and off, and not possible with gloves on. Other than that it looks great and keeps me dry!
For me I prefer a more loose fit jacket but able to tighten it up when needed in bad weather. This jacket will do the job. When to put it on for the first time you will know ! Can't go wrong with this jacket.
