Upgrade Your Saddle With The Padding And Protection Your Seat Bones Will Thank You For
With a shorter length for Triathlon racing, this lightweight saddle is made for those on a budget who still want the protection and comfort from what Selle has to offer. As an ideal choice seat for sport, city trekking, or city touring bikes, the Selle SMP TRK Large Saddle is on a mission. From multiple tests and extensive studies, the design of the outer mid-section is shaped to follow your thigh muscles to maximize blood circulation and pedaling power.
SMP4BIKE has a fundamental objective for keeping their standards high — to reduce pressure on the perineum and the consequent pressing of neuro-vascular structures in order to decrease the incidence of genitourinary problems and disorders in cyclists. To do this, the saddles must have innovative design and top quality materials. Research and development led to defining exclusive patents with regard to shape, curvature, and dimensions. The characteristic "beak" shape has been engineered to provide a flat base for efforts when sitting, offering greater bike control when using the thighs without compromising your more sensitive areas thanks to the central channel. With thick padding and durable steel rails, this saddle is sure to elevate the game and change how you ride forever.
Worried about how tough your new saddle will be? According to Selle SMP, the saddle must be broken in with your body weight so you can arrive at the ideal point of flexion for your body, something that gives you greater pedaling power and comfort. Strive for greatness with the Selle SMP TRK Saddle Large, and be sure to notice the improvements that your pedaling power and riding position benefit from along the way.

Upon opening the shipping box, the seat was in a bag, un-attached to, but with the cardboard display backing. Someone had already cut the zip ties holding the two together. A return? Perhaps. After mounting it to the seat post (it replaced a trusty old Specialized split seat), it looked like the nose was slightly bent to the side. During the first ride the seat kept snagging the left leg of my riding shorts. ( The seat post was in the same place it had been for years with the Specialized seat - I marked it long ago. ) I felt the under side of the seat and it feels unfinished - there is a sharp edge there. Possibly from the molding process? I loosened and turned the seat post a touch and it seems to have helped, but it still looks like the molding process bent the seat frame. Maybe that's why it was returned? I need a deeper grooved seat, and this one has the right features and price point for a quality seat, only the quality is not quite there to back it up! YMMV.
Great saddle, although a bit heavy, it provides me comfortable rides even during long days on the bike. I personally prefer this form version to the gel, although both are very similar. BTD has unbeatable prices if you can wait for a promotion or sale on your particular component, tire, accessory. Prompt delivery, and backed by the best customer service in the industry.
Just got a smart bike trainer and my wife and I both use it. Fortunately it's easy to swap saddles and I needed a saddle for my wife. This is the same saddle my wife has on her regular bike so I bought another for the smart trainer. She likes this saddle and believe me she is fussy about saddles!
As we all know seats can be very subjective. My previous seat was actually quite good but I really like the looks of this SMP and hoped it might ride as well. I ride 100 miles a week. If I were buying today Id probably get the medium but Im happy with it.
I recently had a prostate procedure and needed a saddle for my trainer that provided a little relief. This saddle fit the bill perfectly - no pressure in the love channel!
