The Tiogas on my 35 year old CB City Bike finally gave up the ghost and I put these on because I think Schwalbe makes a pretty bullet proof tire. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy they rolled on and off pavement. I ride pavement, gravel and on the farm and they handle it all well. They do sing a bit on pavement but it isn't annoying. They are also a little more comfortable than the Tiogas which themselves weren't bad.
These tires fit easily onto my 26 inch rims with no problems. I was worried about the tread not providing very much traction, but during a recent wet and muddy trail ride I did not slip at all and the tires shed mud very well. The rolled fast and did well down and up hills. This tire was perfect for my old rigid Trek 970.
Previously when I needed to accelerate and jumped on the pedals my rear tire would slip and give me nothing. When I installed this tire there was a very rewarding jump in traction. I can count on it to power me past obstacles and maintain traction even in wet red clay! Bike Tires Direct is my go-to online supplier when I have needs for my road, gravel or mountain bike! I love these Schwalbe mtb tires. They are tough enough for e-bikes but still responsive on the trail. I put them on my 29er too. Yeah they will be a little tough to mount the first time...cuz they are Schwalbe tires. Worth the trouble.
I want a sort-of wide tire for my rigid mountain bike, for pseudo suspension. But needed good road tire, too. This tire delivers both. The center line is almost solid so it delivers fast rolling on pavement. Lean it over a little, or sink into dirt, and the knobbiness shows up to work. Perfect for no-suspension bike
