I got these because I didn�t want to use some of my more expensive bibs and shorts for short rides. I use these on 5-10mile rides and they definitely are comfortable. The chamois is not too thick or thin. Just the right amount to get you through those quick rides.
To start with, all my kit is Pearl Izumi. Bibs, shorts, jerseys, gloves, however these shorts are the absolute worst that I have purchased/own. The waist and thighs have no elastic them. There is no compression to them. I rated them as 1 star because there isn't a rating for zero stars.
these run on the small side, legs are exceptionally short (inseam length given, so my overlook). The large size would probably be great on a 12 year old. In the past, PIzumi had some great shorts: I didnt want to spend alot as I've ridden lately without padding and didn't (don't) know if it's going to be worth it. Low miles.
These shorts are not the perfect shorts but they are the closest thing to perfect. As far as the padding, it is placed in the perfect position for me, they have the correct density of padding for me, the chamois could of been a little more narrower in between the legs while standing but the extra material isn't noticed while riding which is important, owning several different brands, i prefer these over the rest.
Definitely will buy again.
