For going on a multi-day excursion on a bike not fitted with racks, Ortlieb's Seat Pack provides a secure and lightweight way to carry clothing, tools, and other equipment. The roll-top pack is completely waterproof, made from polyurethane-coated nylon with reinforced fabric at saddle contact points. Inside, the pack is structurally supported by a plastic stiffener and two aluminum brackets that also attach the pack's two hook-and-loop seatpost straps. Up top, attachment is completed by cinching down the camlock side-release straps to the saddle rails for a four-point mounting system that won't loosen up over rough terrain.

Other features include a switchable air valve on the side to purge air for compressing loads, reflective accents, and a rear daisy chain that can be used to attach a clip-on tail light. IP64 Standard dust and water resistant. PVC Free.

Great, versatile pack!

This seat pack is great - I've used it mainly on road rides, shorter ones around town and one long 140-mi day from Philly to Alexandria, VA as well as one 40-mi gravel ride. It can carry fairly large loads (e.g., weekend worth of clothing, extra pair of shoes, food, extra water bottles), though you'll want to pack the heaviest stuff towards the bottom of the bag. It stays stable, and doesn't rub my legs. I am 5'-7" tall, and this bag seat stem attachment with the two velcro straps fits on most bikes for me - however, on some larger frame bikes, it doesn't quite have enough clearance on the seat stem so I have to velcro the bottom attachment below around the stem adjuster - it still stays on but not as ideal as being able to velcro just around the stem. Webbing on the top is perfect for carrying an extra pair of shoes. All in all, worth the price, imo - I will be using this bag for many trips!

Great part of my bikepacking kit

Just completed a 200+ mile bikepacking route through Washington's Gifford Pinchot NF and Klickitat Valley with plenty of rough roads and no issues with the Ortlieb Seat Pack. Held my sleeping bag, extra clothes and food and always felt stable. Once it is on the bike it stays put and is easy to load. Haven't tested it in the rain yet, but feels bombproof. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Love, love, love, love this seat pack!

Waterproof! Built very solidly and with outstanding materials that should last for many years to come. Very spacious, yet fits on to a seat post with a mirror 5.5 inches of clearance. Use it for a bikepacking, or simply keep it on your bike for rides where you may need to store your jacket, tools, spare inner-tubes, snackfoods, extra energy,/electrolyte drinks, or anything else for that matter. I am using this for bike packing, touring, as well as commuting.

Light, waterproof, and sturdy

I've used it on a 3-day bikepacking trip and was impressed with its performance. No sagging or loosening after riding singletrack all day long. I didn't notice it hanging off my saddle while flying down mountains. The air purge was useful and I like how rigid the interface is with the seatpost. It's expensive, but it works.

Another great Ortlieb product!!!!

Great waterproof large seat bag. Attaches easy to bike. Like the valve to let air out of the bag. Like the bungi cords on the top of the bag. Well designed bag. I have taken bag on two day rides and bag has performed to expectations. Thanks Ortlieb!!!'

Great bag, spacious and works great in the rain too

It took me some time to install it properly as I have an older TREK carbon frame with a horizontal bar and therefore less room under the saddle to secure a bag. But it did work in the end.

The bad is light weight and contains a lot. I can put overnight clothing in there

It is also completely waterproof which was very useful on several occasions.

Also this store gave me a nice price on it as I saw it costs significantly more on amazon.

Well worth it!

Great but a bit wobbly

First and foremost, it holds a ton of gear. Unfortunately if it is not loaded enough it will become wobbly as you ride. Other than that it does exactly what is supposed to do. It is also very waterproof

I've tried others this one beats them all

Save your money on cheaper bags that claim to be water proof, they aren't, only Ortlieb will keep your stuff dry and preform like it says it will. Truly the gold standard. Amazing product!

The Best BikepackingTouring Seatpack

I have the Pika and the Outpost to compare this to, and the Ortlieb beats them both. Those are $120 and $99 respectively, however I really do think you get your money's worth if you spend a little extra and get this one. All straps, buckles, and the bag body are very high quality. The air valve is extremely well designed, I hope ortlieb starts to include these on all their waterproof touring bags. I've used it on one short two week tour right before the cold season hit and it worked beautifully. At first I used it solely for my clothing, but unless the clothes are packed down very tight the bag sometimes gets floppy. I'm a lazy packer, so I started to put my tentpoles in along with the clothes and that helped the bag keep its shape better. Ortlieb seat pack and two back rollers on front pannier racks should give you plenty of space for touring through countries like the US, Canada, Japan, etc.

awesome but expensive

this is a great piece of kit, but more expensive than similar items. I had to buy this one though as it is the one requiring the least distance saddle to tyre clearance. Really worth taking your bike to the shop to try them for size before deciding. Also great that it is waterproof as many others are not. The staff were really helpful with accommodating this.
