The Lake CX177 features form fitting and durable microfiber and mesh upper with a comfortable and secure BOA closure utilizing Carbitex tongue panels for reduced friction lace adjustment. What really makes the CX177 standout is it's amazing Fiberglass injected Nylon sole. Lake's Nylon sole is world famous for its uncompromising performance. No other injection nylon sole offers the same level of stiffness or comfort.

Nice design, nice fit, comfortable shoe, great price, but... the Boa wire closure system broke after fewer than a dozen rides. Lake, the manufacturer, sends you to Boa for help and warranty support. Boa support is a video on how to repair (had to watch it 3 times to understand) and the option to buy replacement parts. Don't buy these unless you have patience for the runaround. Spend the money on Sidi, you won't regret that decision.
Having worn out my first pair of Lake road shoes after years of hard use, I came to BTD for a replacement pair. Size 46 fits just right and their sturdy design makes for a workhorse road shoe. Just like the pair before, I'm using these for commuter rides. The reflective patches, boa closure, and ample toe box (accommodating thicker socks in cold months) make them perfect for commutes. So far so good.
