Description
The Kool Stop Thinline brake pads feature a low profile for systems with tight brake clearance. This also helps make wheel removal easier. Spherical washers allow easier toe-in and pad adjustment. Angled tip helps remove mud and rain from rims. Compatible with threaded-post cantilever or linear pull brakes. Black compound for normal conditions; Salmon compound for extreme conditions. 55 grams/pair.

I wanted to replace the brake shoes on my tandem. I thought these would work well, but unlike the pads currently fitted, there is no curvature on these, making it impossible for me to get them to fit without contacting the sidewall of the tire. :-(
I work on a lot of bikes, for myself and also for family and friends. I'm a big fan of Kool Stop brake pads. The thinline pads are designed for v-brakes, but work very well for classic caliper brakes on tight, classic frames. Personally, I prefer the salmon compound as I feel they stop better in wet weather. Also, not quite as messy on aluminum rims in wet weather.
