I've bought 550ml fly tex bottle first and it's been good. Easy to drink, good water flow and can be disassembled to clean.
So I decided to buy bigger ones for longer rides.
Also the clear ones show the color of the contents which can be both good and bad. Good that you can see what's inside and how much, bad when the color doesn't match your bike's aesthetics.
These bottles are fantastic! They are lightweight, for sure, the lightest I've owned. However, it is their suppleness that makes them so much better to get lots of drink in one squeeze. I can squeeze the bottle until the insides touch, squeezing out about 1/3 of the bottle at a time. These are great for consuming large gulps at a time. They do not insulate at all, however, so drink your cold drink fast. If you are a big drinker, like me, you will love these bottles. I have them in all three sizes and use them according to what type of ride I'm doing. I appreciate that they are available in my cycling club's colors--pink and blue. I have two in color and five more in clear--I like them!
Also, I like how the spout pulls off completely for thorough cleaning. Definitely a plus!
The Elite Fly bottle (750ml) has worked well for me. I am particular about the spout, requiring ease of opening using one hand and teeth, and a good flow rate. The Elite Fly answered the mail!
The only negative is that the bottles can be easily stowed while deflated (if they are sealed before allowing to re-inflate), if stowed while deflated they are easily bounced out of the bottle cage while riding.
Overall, I recommend this product, 4-stars.
Easily my favorite bottle. Stays secure in my bottle holders, but easy to remove and replace while riding. The spout actuates smoothly. Flexible body is very easy to squeeze to get the flow volume I want. And this textured version feels nice in my hand and adds just a bit of extra grip without making it more difficult to get out of bottle holders. I have several Elite Fly bottles in both sizes along with the non textured version in multiple colors, and while I've tried several other brands and styles I have yet to find any that are as good as these!
Elite's Fly bottle is highly volume efficient and very light. It's the shortest 750mL bottle I've found, and I've checked by weighing a full bottle after zeroing out the empty weight. The problem is it constantly dribbles its contents out the base of the nozzle despite making sure it's as closed as it can get. My bottle and, my bottle cage and my downtube almost always end up covered in sticky mix; this is especially bad with 100g of carbs in one bottle. I usually stick 100g of table sugar plus one Nuun tab in my bottles. The effervescence from the Nuun tablet seems to exacerbate the issue. Hopefully Elite revises the caps/nozzles soon?
Its probably hard to get excited about water bottles, but in this case you should. Lighter, more malleable, easier to drink from a clean, these are an affordable upgrade worth your consideration. Highly recommended.
I really like this bottle, it flows great, is soft enough to squeeze, lid doesnt leak at all (no drink mix leaking leading to sticky hands). The top pulls apart really easy to fully clean and while the upper indent is small it has a square edge that hooks into bottle cages and keeps bottles secure even on rough gravel
This is the fastest flowing easiest water bottle I have ever drank from. It is 1/2 the weight of most water bottles as well. One of the cheapest weight reductions to your setup. Retention is good. No smell or taste.
I bought 2 Elite Fly bottles 2 years ago and have been using them since. I also use a Nashbar bottle I bought 10 years ago. On 2 bottle rides I tend to use the Nashbar and one of the Elite bottles, on three bottle rides all three. After 10 years, the Nashbar bottle is still holding up, even its graphics mostly intact. The Elite bottle I use on two bottle rides is coming apart. The outer layers are peeling away, no graphics left. The bottle feels flimsy, but so far is not leaking. It looks like the inside surface is starting to bubble up a little bit, but so far the bubbles seem intact. With my other Elite bottle, the one that gets less use, the outer layer is starting to peel, but some of the graphic still shows. The flow from the Elite is more than the Nashbar, but the Nashbar is enough. I find I empty the Elite bottle sooner than I need to.
Bottle is just as functional as the older models and super light weight. New textured bottom half almost eliminates all of the marring that is visible on my older bottles. I feel that the bottle is also not as slick when wet due to the texture. Great buy.
Wow, this is an excellent water bottle. I switched over from the 550ml Elite Corsa and can't be happier. It's a very lightweight bottle with softer pliability that makes it much easier to drink your liquids. And it slides in and out of my elite cages very great ease and stays very secure. Waiting for more to arrive to order another one!
I bought the 750ml...perfect size for longer rides, not too big or small (shorter than a 26oz bottle so easier to get in and out of cage).
The flow is awesome and doesn't take any effort to squeeze out. Will be buying more...maybe 550ml for shorter rides.
