nice, solid tire

I got these tires mainly to ride on adverse days and icysnowy conditions while commuting, but more importantly to ride confidently on black-ice glazed bike paths and get inout of my perpetually unplowed ice-rink-like neighborhood. They are 2.5 lbs with tubes, so they are definitely heavier & have higher rolling resistance on clear pavement. Tehy perform well on packed dirt, icy roads as well.

SO far, I have ridden about 200 miles on this set with no lost studs (heed the 30km breakin period!) and no significant grinding down of studs.

possible new fixie trend for skidding

this tire ive had for 3 months and these studs have made my tire last longer. with skidding on a normal rubber tire it ribs rubber off and makes you buy tires almost weekly. with this tire its lasted longer than any other tire. if theres any fixed gear bikers looking here take it from me its worth every penny!

Winter Treads

WOW I bought these last season they are tank-like. You can count on them on ice, they preform well in snow (packed, rutted, and soft), they even work well in sand. My Colorado commute is 12 single track and 12 paved street, while I can't claim to ride every day I do ride every week. Every benefit comes with a cost, these babys are heavy (tank-like) so you can mount on extra wheels and save them for the conditions they were made for, or look at them as a training tool - I do both. Think snow!
