They roll as you expect for the tread pattern. Hook up well in loose, chunky,rocky, and soft stuff. Did great on a long single track climb with mostly decomposed granite. No washing out front or rear. A little noisy and slower rolling on tarmac than other tires with shallower or closer set lugs. Definitely overkill if 30% or more of your riding is pavement or if the gravel is predictable. Both tires weight out the about 620g but it is a pretty robust tire for the intended use.

I ride a Catrike 700. With the stock skinny tires, I averaged a flat every two weeks. I changed to Schwalbe Marathon Plus 6 months ago. They weigh 2-3 times as much, but they're more surefooted and ride better. Plus...no flats. Often when I get back home, I pull several goat head thorns out of them, but I haven't yet had a flat. That greatly outweighs the added pounds which bring my Catrike 700 up to a manageable 35 lbs. I can't tell you how hard these are to remove because I haven't had to change a flat. I don't think I will, either I'm about to put these on my Catrike 559, too. Highly recommended.

I've been riding these for about a month now. I don't ride much in the wet but they grip fine when it's wet. On hard pack they have grip for days and they roll over rocks and roots easily'kinda feels like a caterpillar gripping everywhere. The big surprise was how well the climb and how little rolling resistance they have, the weird thing is how oddly quiet they are in the trail. I just bought a set for my wife's bike too, that speaks volumes.
