I'm getting use to it...
I got the Soma as a replacement to my older platform pedals. I decided to try the Soma petals (wtoe clips), since I recently upgraded to a SOMA Bike frame (LOVE that frame and ride - that's another review). I'm getting use to it, because the platform is only on one side, so from a dead stop at an intersection, sometimes you can get the shoe in and sometimes not, I think it has to do with the new tennis shoes and not so much the pedal. When I use the old tennis shoes, it fits like a glove. I ride over 5,000 miles a year.
