These tires are smooth riding but maybe not the lowest rolling resistance. Overall they are good budget tires and no regrets buying them.

The tire runs smooth and is very quiet on trails. Mounted easily and seems like a good tire. It also runs true, and I really like the reflective stripe. Nice tread pattern. I trust the Michelin brand name on my SUV too. I would have paid extra for the Max with more anti flat protection if buying another but, for this sale price it was hard to pass up.

In 80,000 miles of cycling I've never had a worse experience. These tires are nearly impossible to mount & remove. Had 7 flats in 3 weeks after installing these tires. They are going in the trash & I will purchase something else.

You would not put these on a road bike to spin on long rides, but if you are a commuter, or riding on short trips and busy streets these are great tires that can stand up to the potholes. Best part are the reflective sidewalls and the price. Plus they are a name brand,

This tire has been fantastic so far except for getting a couple of flats. It was easy to install, rolls easily, and is easy to dismount to repair flats. Value for price is very high. I would consider buying this again. I've yet to have a bicycle tire that never had a flat.

I bought a new Motobecanne not long ago. The front tire blew off of the rim at the normal pressure, so I replaced both tires. I am averaging 5% faster with these tires. Some said these were hard to mount, but not for me. I didn't even need tools.

Love Michelin tires but the Protek didn't meet my expectations for this quality manufacturer. Bought a set of 700cX28mm for Winter road riding for the gravel bike. One is still going strong at 1800 miles, the other blew out the sidewall after about 1500 miles while on a local century ride. Had some difficulties getting the tires to mount and seat on tubeless rims using tubes as well.

This tire is excellent on road or even a little bit of gravel if you so desire. Flats are almost non- existing with the thick tread. In the wetter conditions it can slip a little when pushed but it would have to be very wet. The reflective sidewall is a definite ?? plus for night riders or pre-dawn patrols.

Michelin tires never get the love they deserve from the bicycle Illuminati. They are rugged and give the consumer unrivaled bang- for-the-buck. I use the nominal 35mm which actually plumps out to 37mm.

Got a set of these for $XXX each on the daily special, an unbelievable steal. I'm riding the 40mm 7 days a week for about 6 months now. I can' say enough good about these tires except I'd replace them again at full price in a heartbeat. I like to over inflate all my tires, rock hard. They roll great and track really good on turns, and off road. They mount easy, and have lived through a brutally hot summer here in S.C. on chip-seal roads well over 100 degrees carrying 230 pound loads with ease. These could be the best tires I have EVER rode staying in the moderately priced tire range. I weigh about 175 and carry tools and groceries regularly. I can't believe these got ANY negative reviews, take those with a grain of salt. Or did I get the best set ever made?

I enjoyed these tires for about 1,000mi with no issues.
Afterwards, I started experiencing issues with gunshot flats, just a sudden loud pop. It happened no matter what kind of tubes I installed. While I never quite found the issue causing this, I noticed the stitching by the wire bead coming loose, and I saw my tube protruding from the tire. I had to get rid of the tires. There is a chance that the wire bead became exposed.
This may have been a fluke, otherwise I would be giving it much lower ratings. I still trust Michelin, so don't rule this tire out if you're on a budget. Otherwise, maybe go for the higher end models of this tire.

Measured with digital calipers. I have been using Michelin City Tires for a few years. Great tires.

I've been riding a pair of these for about 6 months 5 days a week and I have only good things to say. Good traction in wet or dry, with no flats so far, even with with post storm junk all over the road. I switched to Michelin after another brand gave me sidewall failures. I couldn't be happier.

The 40 mm wide tire is actually 46 mm. I measured this several times with my calipers. My touring frame can handle up to 42 mm and the product description says that larger sizes are 2 mm wider, so I figured that I would be safe with the 40 mm. At 75 PSI the tire is just begins to rub on my frame. Once again, this is what I get for going cheap.

I used this on gravel bike for road during storm season. Worked well, but reduced grip when wet.

Three years ago I went small to 700-35 Kenda Kwest and wore them out with my 240 pounds on coarse,HOT pavement here in Southwest Florida. Was not the tire's fault, but I switched to the Michelin Protek because they were on sale and I wanted reflective stripe for night riding.I went bigger with 700-40 and had to trim my rack for clearance but what a difference.Ride is great and rolling resistance was noticeably reduced.Next time I might try the Protek cross max for more tread. One of the new tubes was defective and Bike Tires Direct sent me another one right away with no hassle. After 200 miles I am still very happy with the product and the service from Bike Tires Direct..Happy riding.
