I made the mistake of buying new shoes thinking I could transfer the cleats from my old shoes. Big mistake. Ordering new cleats along with new shoes is a must.

I have been a long, longtime user of Look pedals primarily for their "freer feeling" float versus Shimano, which my now-funky left knee demands. For years I fussed with their removable cleat covers in order to preserve the life of the cleats. Look finally offered walkable versions with anti-slip pads; however, those proved to lack durability and required changing out far more frequently than Shimano. The latest version promises smoother action and much greater durability. I am eager to find out if the claims are true. I am currently on my last pair of cleat-covered, and as soon they wear out I will be giving the new ones a go. Stay tuned for a follow up.

I've used them on numerous road bikes and now on a recumbent trike. Never had problems with them. To be honest, I've not compared them with other pedals. When I like something, I stick with it.

Love my Look pedals, but always so bummed on how slick the cleats were when off the bike. These have all the goodness of traditional Look cleats and none of the slips and falls I was getting used to. Non-slip pads are tough enough to last the life of these cleats. Perfect float!

This does have slightly better grip compared to the standaed version. Helps a lot if the heel of your sheos are particularly slippery like mine.
