Really happy after changing to these! I'd previously used Vittoria Corsas and Pirelli PZeros.
Although I feel that the ride sensation of the Corsa's was the best of the bunch (they're absolutely glued to the road), the durability just isnt there. In my limited experience, it felt that punctures began at about 1000 miles.
With the GP5000s, the ride feel is nearly as good, and the durability is vastly superior. My rear tires do well until 2000 miles, at which point the wear indicators are usually completely gone so I swapped them. I swap the front at 3000 miles.
Overall very happy with them!

Really love the feel of these, they're light and fast. Unlike the schwalbes and the enves they seem to retain their speed after the first hundred miles.
Very susceptible to small punctures- definitely not as durable as the schwalbes. Probably equivalent to the enves.

What more do you need to know in order to purchase Continental GP5000 STR tires yourself ?
By far the best tires on the market.
25 years ago I raced on Vittoria and Veloflex tubular tires. Then I transferred to a Specialized sponsored team which means I had the opportunity to race on custom made Specialized tubular tires and S works clincher tires. I can tell you that after a long break from being on the bike, I chose Continental GP 5000 STR tires to get a tubular like ride, But a more durable tire. Not to mention that the tire pressure is unbelievably low comparitivly speaking.

I got these in 28mm and mounted them on HED Ardennes LT+ TR rim brake rims (21mm interior width). Replaced a set of tubed GP4000s. Like other commenters note, the 28mm tubeless look like my former 25mm tubed tires, but I haven't measured them. I didn't have any trouble mounting these, though I used tire levers to mount them. They're a pleasure to ride; tubeless is always a little plusher than tubed, but these are a bit silkier than other tubeless I've ridden. It may be my imagination but they seem a little faster than my previous GPs. I've ridden about 300 miles on them over all kinds of surface, including milled asphalt, crappy NYC streets, and dirt, and I've had no flats and no premature wear. Expensive but I expect to get every penny out of them.

I've used most of the other major brands of tubeless bike tires (Pirelli, Vittoria, Schwalbe, Maxxis, Michelin) and the Continental GP 5000 S TR tires are far and away my favorites. They are an excellent combination of durability/long life, good rolling resistance and amazing ride quality. Also, they are sized so that the mount easily on every type of wheel that I own ... something that can be a real challenge with other tire/wheel combinations in my experience.

This is my third review for the same set of black 32mm wide Conti 5000 S TR tires mounted on Zipp Firecrest 303 hookless (disk brake) wheels (25mm inner diameter). My first and second reviews at BTD were at about 1500 and 4400 miles use. I weigh 185 lbs. After several months use, I upped the tire pressures a few pounds when switching from Zipp's tire pressure calculator to Silca's TP calculator. I went from 50/52 psi F/R to 54/58 psi F/R. I replaced my rear tire at 7500 plus miles because the wear dots were beginning to disappear and the tire was aging. I am still running the original front tire which has 8600 plus miles on it. Its wear dots are still easily visible, but the tire does look aged. I am reasonably confident that I can run it to 10,000 miles, but I have replacements in my inventory that beckon to be mounted. I have not had a puncture on either tire or the new rear one, which now has 1100 miles on it. I do love the ride and handling of these tires over the 28mm GP 5000 clinchers (80/85 psi) mounted on alloy rims they replaced.

These came with my new Canyon Endurace (SLX-Force). If you run these with tubes...you'll flat often. Had 3 flats in 10 rides. Finally went tubeless. These tires have exceptional feel, speed, and grip. Thousand miles in tubeless, no flats. A few punctures and a gash, but Stans took care of all of it. I have considered the AS TR's, but if these continue to perform the way they are I'll def. stick with them. Long-time Vittoria user, but these are just faster. Excellent tire,

Been riding these for a long time in various forms. From clincher 700x21's to these tubeless 28's. Always a good fast tire.

These are really good tires. I ride year 'round in mostly hot/humid weather and also in the winter down south. I travel for work and bring my bike lots of time especially to NYC for 60, 70, or 80 mile rides. I run tubeless and use Orange Seal regular and Ive had great results. Yeah, punctures happen especially in urban riding (Jersey City, NYC, etc.) but if you keep your sealant level up, inside of tires clean, and don't over pressure, these tires have wonderful longevity. Also, they corner nicely and generally ride well. I have no need to explore tubeless ready tires any further after the GP5000 TR. If you are a nut about maintenance (which you should be) and keep track of your tires and mileage these should be good for 4000 miles before you get to the bottom of the wear indicator although I wish I could get any tire to the bottom of the wear indicator. +1 for the GP5000 TR.

I use these everyday. They mount up easy with my old hands only. Inflate easily and hold air like no other tire I've owned. They roll and corner very fast. I had another set from a major tire company and when I mounted and rode with these, I immediately felt I could corner better and roll faster. They were just a tad harsher which I think maybe because once mounted they were exactly 32 mm as the other set measured 34 even though they were both 32 mm tires.

I really like the feel of this tire in 32mm running tubeless at 62psi. I ride on mostly dedicated paved bike trails and roads with surface ranging from worn out chip seal to freshly paved. I trust them on speedy Colorado descents. That said I have had issues with glass punctures impacting longevity. Of the last 6 GP5000 STR's I've ran, 3 of them had to be changed due to punctures not normal tire wear. But, I keep buying them'.

I use them on my TT bike as I compete in Olympic and 70.3 triathlon races, building towards a full Ironman. I needed a quality tire that will reduce resistance and increase speed while also reduce punctures. I could immediately feel a difference, which boosts my confidence on the bike.

Best traction and puncture resistance of any tire on the market. And, the best prices on BTD!

Just mounted these on some new wider carbon wheels; phenomenal ride at 6 bar. I love these tires!

Awesome tires

I have not had one flat tire since going tubeless with this continental tire. I ride on average, 5000 a year. I get that many miles out of a set of tires. I love the wear indicators. I do think they are more difficult to mount, they seem to be a tighter a fit. I will continue to go with the tires that haven't failed me yet.

If you're on the fence' or your spouse is trying to convince you otherwise' just do it. You won't regret having free speed and excellent tires. They even plug nicely if you get an unfortunate shot of glass like I did on my last TT training ride.

BTD asked me a few months later to review this tire again. My first review was after 1500 miles use. I am riding on the 32mm wide version of this tire on Zipp Firecrest 303 wheels (25mm inner diameter) at 50/52 psi F/R. I weigh 185 lbs. They are both still wearing well after 4400 miles use. Wear dimples are still visible on both tires, moreso on the front tire than the rear tire. I have had no flats. I attribute the good wear to a big contact patch. I have only found two tiny nicks from road trash in the contact patch of the rear tire. Riding at 50 psi and a larger contact patch likely helps reduce penetration from debris. Sidewalls are in good condition. I still expect them to be rolling at 6000 miles for me.

I love the normal version of the GP5000. With my new hookless rim, I had to go to the TR version. It seems like a lot of money for a bike tire. So I tried the Pirelli P-Zero and a Michelin Power Cup TR. The Pzero lasted one 25 mile ride, then got a 1 inch slice all the way through the tire after running over some glass the next day. I have never seen any of my GP5000's do that. The Michelin lasted a bit longer, but still did not seem as puncture resistant as the GP5000 TR. I'm done testing other brands, and will just stick with my tried and true GP5000. They are worth the cost, and get less flats than most all of my riding buddies. Worth a little extra money for the peace of mind.

I've been using these on the road in 32mm, 30 mm and 28 mm. These used to be great tires but puncture resistance is now abysmal. Pinhole punctures that seal on other tires just don't on these and they can't be inflated to the right pressure.
This is not a single experience. It's happened for a few years in multiple sizes. Meanwhile, I've ridden a pair of Strade Bianca handmade clinchers on my gravel bike for over 2 years and they're covered with pinhole punctures that sealed.
I've been riding Continentals for 15 years, but I'm done. There are faster tires with better road feel, if you don't care about puncture resistance. They GP 5000 ASs may be more reliable, but I just don't feel like supporting this brand anymore.
