I bought this tire to replace the Continental Race tires I used regularly. Race tires would catch flats fairly often. Not so with the Gatorskins! No looking back-these tires last and take a beating without fail over a variety of surfaces-concrete, asphalt, tar and chip. Best example No issues over the Greater Allegheny Passage-an old railroad converted to bike trail between Cumberland Md and Pittsburgh Pa. Trail is a fine crushed limestone. No issues with the Gatorskins. They are a little heavier than some tires, but at least I'm not off my bike on the side of the road fixing a flat!

I absolutely love these tires! I have been riding on these for several years now and won't train on anything else. Here on Wyoming's rural roads, chip sealed pavement and otherwise rough roads are the norm. with regular tires I can count on several flats a season. With these, maybe just one or two. They last me a few thousand miles. They aren't too heavy and the feel isn't bad.

Gator Skin Tires are tough tires, I have used nothing but Continental tires on my Cannondale Synapse Road Bike, Bought these tires that were on sale from BTD, and what an awesome deal! I will use these tires as my training tires because of the tough rubber on the tire, and for their resistance to flats!!!

I've used gatorskins for years and find them to be a great combination of durability, puncture resistance and ride quality.

These gatorskins have good rolling resistance and no problems with flats.

Great tires for the city, they are light and tough.

Used for road riding. Tire rolls nicely and flats are rare. Very durable.

My son and I both use this tire because we want a tire that is durable and this tire serves that purpose.

Whenever I do a trail tour, I put on my skins and have never punctured.

I often find myself riding on good and not so good roads. The Continental Gatorskin is my go to tire for distance riding and training on crummy roads and has not let me down yet. At sale pricing this tire is a steal and highly recommended.

I bought the folding version, on sale. Very easy to mount. Got them on without tire levers. Nice.
Only 200 miles on them, and no flats or complaints.

I've had several different brands of tires including Hutchinson, Vittoria, and Vredestein. The Gatorskins are not quite as supple or grippy as the Vittorias but they have been basically bulletproof in almost 5,000 miles. (two pairs). Would not pay retail price but great value when on sale!

Road touring very dependable.

I live in Mass where road maintenance is an afterthought. There's a ton of salt dumped on each road every week. The hills are big for me as well. I like to ride smooth, lite weight Michelins but I was getting a flat multiple time per week. I have moved over to the Gatorskins for my training wheels. Their size makes them a bit more comfortable. Not sure how they corner under speed because of the salt, I haven't been pushing hard in the corners. But so far they have accomplished their primary function of not giving me flats.

Is this my favorite tire? No. But given the miles I ride and the roads, this is a very good tire for the price (on sale). As far as rolling resistance, nothing beats the Michelin Pro but the Continental is a more durable tire and since I do not want to change tires on the side of the road very often, this is my preferred tire. It's not easy to get on the wheel but since it is very durable, you don't have to worry about that too much. I ride between 1500 and 2000 miles on a set before I change them. When the top is flat, time to change.

After two rides across the USA I find the Gatorskins are the best at preventing sidewall blowouts and flats.

Nothing but good service and merchandise. Will use for future buys. 3284 miles last year and kept old tires as backups in between flat rotations. Key to no flats is watch the road. Gator Skins are my tire of choice for the blacktop.
