Explore The World with the XPLR
The Zipp Service Course 70 XPLR bar's moniker, XPLR, exemplifies the desire to explore the world with an expanded definition of cycling on a drop bar bicycle from paved roads onto gravel, mud, dirt, and even singletrack. The Service Course 70 XPLR helps you go faster by placing your body, starting with your hands, in an optimal "comfort zone" position for hours of rough riding over mixed terrain.
Today's riders demand a few things out of their cockpit, whether they are doing a two hour training ride from home or a 200 mile gravel adventure: comfort, control, and the ability to carry what they need. We met these needs by creating a bar with shallow and wide drops, specifically focusing on two crucial metrics — outsweep and flare. Outsweep is created by rotating the drop below the brake perch outward. Flare is created by rotating the entire drop above the brake perch outward.

Nice upgrade for my All City Space Horse
I got the bars to go along with upgrading components on an a new All City Space Horse. I like how the bar is shaped with a slight flare in the drops. The bars have holes for cable routing to (I presume) bar end shifters as well as recessed areas under the tops (instead of the front) for securing cables when wrapping the bars. The tops are also noticeably wider, which makes for a great feel of control when climbing. Overall I'm really pleased.

Great Gravel Bar, Great Price. Flare with Flair
Super classy and comfortable handlebar. Enough flare for hours of comfortable riding, without going crazy dirt-drop style. It's the best of both worlds. And go a size bigger if you're reach isn't too far. The extra CM's are nice.

Comfortable road-like shape, markings inaccurate
I had been using the Pro Discover Medium bar and found the flare where the brake levers attach caused them to rotate inwards vertically, and my hands were resting on the outside angled edge of the 105 brake hoods and was quite uncomfortable. On these bars, the real flare begins below the brake lever attachment points and so the hood placement feels much more like a regular road bar and the difference in comfort is huge, for me at least. Taking off 2 stars because the markings are off, so takes much more effort to set it up properly.
