The Vredestein Fortezza TriComp tire is designed for speed and maximum control in all road racing conditions, wet or dry.

Vredestein's proven TriComp rubber compound ensures low rolling resistance and superior grip with three strategically placed rubber densities. They've also added Curve Control System® shoulder technology which specifically improves the tire's cornering traction in wet conditions.

A 120 TPI cotton/polyester casing offers a supple ride without giving up durability, and the Sportex Protection Layer® beneath the tread keeps keeps out sharp objects with minimal sacrifice in terms of weight or speed.

The Fortezza Tricomp is available in 700c x 23mm OR 25mm sizes (23-622 ISO) and various colors. Actual weight: 231 grams. Recommended inflation pressure: 115-145 PSI.

One of my favorite clinchers.

I think I've used just about every race tire we've got. This one is different. The Tricomp rubber layering gives this tire a really unique road feel. It's more like a 'foamy' feel than a 'balloony' feel, if that makes any sense at all. The final product is supple and grippy without being super thin or short-lived, making this a great racertrainer for the cyclist who doesn't want to change his tires every Monday morning after racing on Sunday.

Vredestein great tires

Vredestein tires with their high pressure tubes are a great match & wear well. I run 11 bar of pressure and they roll like a big dog down the road.

Best Tires Ever

I have been riding the roads of Pa (a state known for bad roads) for over 40 years. These are the most durable flat resistant and longest lasting racing tire I have used. I get about 2000 miles on my back tire without rotating it and I weigh 190 lbs. I have been using these tires for 20,000 miles and had 3 flats. Don't leave home without them!!!

Love my Vredestein Fortezza TriComps !!

Great tires for training and long distance rides. I don't race so i can't rate them for that. I ride 2000 mi per season on Western NY rural roads . I have been using these tires since 2009 when a friend (an Ironman Triathlete) recommended them. I replace them every 12 to 18 months and fit them with Michelin AirComp Ultra Light Tubes

Great tires when used appropriately

These are nice, grippy, and fast tires, especially when ridden at 145psi10 bar (their max recommended inflation).

But, beware of road debris! These tires are not as durable as Conti Gatorskins. I've ridden them a lot, over a wide variety of road surfaces, and being 6'5 and 210lbs, I tend to tax these tires a bit more than your average cyclist. They wear well, even with me on them. However, they do not handle road debris very well. I have ridden them for a few hundred miles after small slices and cuts have occurred, but the risk is that small road debris gets into these cuts and the tube blows.

I buy these on sale, in bulk, and have not found a better price anywhere else.

Excellent all-around tire

I have been riding Vredesteins for over 15 years. They are a great combination of durability and performance. I ride the roads of western Pennsylvania, where huge gas-fracking trucks have beat up the roads pretty badly. Still, I rarely flat with these tires. I went from 700x23 to 700x25 with the latest buy in an attempt to smooth out the ride a little, which worked nicely.

Solid road fell and good resistance on chip seal surface

Put these on half way through a 250 mile trip around Crater Lake. Good dry surface feel and resistance to road trash.

Solid value for the thread count.

Good training tire

I had the Michelin Krylion Carbons and these seem more comfortable and so easy to pump - 140 psi - full of air. They don't seem quite as fast as the Michelins but pretty close and I don't race. I did some cyclo cross type riding and they handled it well.

Durable and soft-riding tire, even when fully inflated

These tires are not inexpensive, but they are worth what you pay for them. We put Fortezza TriComps on both our bikes before heading off for a year-long cycling adventure. We had no expectation they would last the full-year, 10,000 km trip we took, but they almost did (11- of the 12 months we were gone). We run these tires at 140 psi, near the top end of the manufacturer's rating, and they were still durable and feel as supple as other brands at 105 psi. I'm sure there are are other perfectly good brands of tires out there, but I see no reason to try any of them.

fast and great looking tires, mediocre flat protection

These tires are fast and tend to roll really smooth, providing all great grip in wet conditions. As for wear they are so-so, middle of the pack in my opinion.

The characteristic that I hate about them is the flat protection, they are racing tires and as such are very thin and light and you can be sure that in a area with a lot of debris flats are going to be your faithful companion

good tire and great looking

I've been used to Rubino Pro III and these come in the same great color (yellow black). They seem to have a hard and durable center riding surface yet softer sidewalls than the Rubino, maybe a more comfortable ride? Long term durability unknown at this point, used the Rubinos for 2,500 usually.

Good tyres-good price-ez to put on

I have a torn finger ligament which makes changing tyres hard-this one goes on nice and ez-even when first out of the box. Wear, traction and weight all good-I had one of two dozen with a tyre bead problem-otherwise made very well. Appreciate Bike Tyres Direct free shipping and speed in which they get product out.

Just a fantastic tire for a fantastic price!

I am a 250 lbs clydesdale road cyclist. Of all the tires I have ridden this Tricomp has never disappointed. I ride an aluminum bike with carbon components so I need a very strong and durable tire, because of my size, but also one that offers some forgiveness from harsh roads. Although this tire gives a very smooth feel, with the high tpi, you can fine tune how much of the road you want to feel. This tire just rocks! In addition it comes in a 700x 25c version which works great for my new Hed Belgium C2 plus rear wheel. Oh yeah, noone seems to ever beat biketiresdirect.com prices... especially if you can become a gold member.

145 lbs. of air pressure never felt so smooth. They roll fast and absorb bumbs well. 4000 miles and one flat from a thorn (& one from the rim strip moving to the side). These are my go to tires from now on.

Great comfortable tire that performs!!

NO FLATS! Fourth set of Tricomps, over 11,000 miles and NO FLATS! Im trying to push this set to 4,000 miles. I ride Mavic Kysrium SL's on an aluminum frame, and I'm relatively light, 165lbs. I ride back tire at 145psi, front 125psi. Great feel! I love these tires! I'm always helping my buddies change their flats.

The only tire I use

Given the durability of the tire, its road characteristics in wet and dry, and the way it rolls it is my first preference. I can easily get 4000 miles out of a front tire and 2500 out of a rear. I weigh 200lbs and at one time I was a pretty good TTer. Sure there are more durable and flat resistant tires out there, but they don't go on sale and usually cost near triple what i can find this tire for.

Sticky Confidence

I love descending curvey and twisty roads. Of all of the tires I have tried, the Verdestein Fortezza TriComps give me the most confidence to give my bike that little extra lean in the corners. They feel very supple and responsive.

Been using VREDESTEIN tires for probably ten years now.

I usually ride around 9000 miles a year with satisfactory results. Three years ago or so I got a couple tires that were extremely hard to mount and re-mount, but lately that has not been the case. I also got a couple VREDESTEINS with the wire beads (from overseas and not from Bike Tires Direct) that rode with a kind of funny feel. Stick with the folding ones and you'll be OK.

Excellent tire at a reasonable price

Have had very good luck with this tire. Inflates to 145 psi, however, I generally ride at about 120-125 psi which provides both comfort and confidence. Have been through about a dozen of these tires and have only had one snake bite
