Vittoria Barzo XC Trail G2.0 29 Inch MTB Tire
Riding technical XC? The Barzo is the choice of the 2015 World Champion, as well as the winner of the BC Bike Race. How can such an aggressive XC tire roll so fast? The magic starts in the center tread, where we place an alternating ridge design, and progressive sipe angles. Cornering duties are handled by the moto-style block knobs, laid out in a proven V-formation. The result is a tire that corners as fast as it rolls, while still offering the protection of a full depth tread. Rocks and roots? Check. World Championship? Check.

Reviews
I got this tire to pair with a 2.35 Mezcal in the rear. Great pairing.
My riding preference is trail on the xc side.
Grip is very good in dry and wet over roots, rocks, sand and loose kitty litter. Tracks well. Fast. Clears mud/sad/debris well. Like any lower tread height tire you have to pick your lines with consideration when the trail gets spicy.
Tire width is 2.525, so almost a true 2.6.
I run the tire fairly at 21psi on 30mm carbon rims and the sidewall doesnt roll or buckle. Tire maintains its rounded profile.
Tested the 29x2.35 tire on the front for two months in Auburn/Folsom area, hard pack, loose over hard, rocky, roots, gravel. Tire does not handle loose over hard well and slides out easily. Tread measures 2.25 after two months on 30 ID rims. Fast and tough tire for the right conditions. Not for me.
I ordered the 2.35 size and they are definitely not that size. I measured them to be 2.28. They give decent traction and role well but in my hands their performance is extremely pressure sensitive, more so than most tires i've ridden in the past (Maxis (Icon, Ardent) and Nobby Nic) I have used them about 8 times and so far nothing exceptional. I hear the 2.25s are closer to 2.35 so don't waste time getting the 2.35s.
