SRAM Force Creates A Lighter, Quieter, Stronger Chain
SRAM's latest Force D1 12-speed chain sets a new standard in shifting performance, and a big part of it is the incredible performance of high-quality SRAM technology. Thanks to the use of durable materials and an innovative design, the Force D1 chain is as radical as chains get.
Developed using technology from the Red D1 chain, the Force D1 chain features the all-new Flattop design that allows for the creation of a stronger, more durable chain that is quieter than ever. This unbelievable equipment also allows the chain to be made narrower, enabling the use of new X-Range technology on the XG-1270 cassette. The result is a quieter, more durable drivetrain with a bigger gear range.
Existing technologies such as SRAM's Chrome plating process and SolidPin construction were utilized and further improved upon. The result? Possibly the most radical chain ever produced, taking performance to the next level. The SRAM Force D1 Chain is perfect for your favorite 12 speed, taking your rides to the next level.

Not much to say about chains unfortunately. They work and hold up or they don't. One would not expect anything less from SRAM and the D1 flat top chain. I wax mine from new and they have been going with one thousand plus miles and still remain in-check when using a chain gauge to check them. I expect 3-4k from them!
Definite improvement over Rival Chain. Better finish. I hot waxed and Strip Chipped it prior to installation. Smooth running and quiet. 600 miles on it so far with 3 drip wax added. Will remove after 1000miles de-wax and give it another hot wax. I have a new hot waxed Rival chain I may run that through winter. Wish I would have bought Force instead.
Hey, it's a chain folks! That said, the narrow cage of the new 12-speed chains is and can be hard to tune with your RD and cassette unlike old-school 10-speed chains that are a bit forgiving. But this chain from new I waxed utilizing the Silca wax system and it is shifting and performing without a hitch! So far, very happy!
I have the force etap system on my Trek road bike.
The original 12-speed chain has over 9,000 miles on it. Lots of stressful miles of climbing and shifting.
I started to notice a little lag or sloppiness in the shifting. I use my part chain tool and saw that it was pretty well worn, surprisingly it was still at about 2% left. Anyway, long story short. I replaced it with a new one and it rides like a new bike now.
