Description
The Shimano SM-BTR1 is a rechargeable 7.4 volt lithium-ion battery for the Dura-Ace Di2 and Ultegra Di2 component systems.
Shimano recommends re-charging about every 1,000 miles. There is no charge memory so the battery can be charged again and again at any intervals. The battery can go through 300 charge cycles without diminishing and will slightly and slowly diminish afterward.
The SM-BTR1 weighs 70 grams and charges is 1.5 hours. Its charger, wiring kit, and frame mount are sold separately.

I bought this battery to replace/supplement an older battery that had degraded over the years. I expected this battery to require recharging once a month or even less frequently like a fresh model. However, I need to recharge it after only 5-6 rides of modest distance (35-40 miles) and modest shifting. Apparently, this battery had been sitting on the shelf and degraded over time. At the very least, the price should be reduced if they continue to be sold as new fresh batteries.
I had to get an extra battery because the first one drains if you forget to disconnect it after each use. There is also very little info on how these work or the readings when connected. After charging it up I get a green and red light. There is no literature on this stuff but no other option anyway other ham you got to have it to get the bike to work.
my original batter didn't seem to be working, so I ordered a new one. It was well priced and arrived quickly but I didn't need a new one. I brought bike in for service and they corrected the short in the shift toggle.
