Slightly narrower than billed. Reasonable to mount on a slightly narrow clincher.

Looking to get a bit wider tire for gravel riding on an old cyclocross bike with cantilever brakes, I tried this tire after finding the GravelKing EXT in 35 was no wider than the 11-year old Michelin Jet and Michelin Mud2 tires at 30mm wide. The GravelKing in 38 comes out a bit wider than 35 mm wide on an old wheel with an inside measurement of 16 mm. That's a bit narrower of a rim than the ETRTO chart recommends for a 38 mm tire which accounts for some of the narrower width. Mounting was a bit more difficult than average with two quality tire levers used to get mounted. I used Schwalbe tubes and have not tried a tubular setup.

    Good tire difficult fit

I have a specialized bike. I don't know if that's a factor or not but I tried to get this tire on my wheel and just could not. I took it to the bike shop to have them do it and they could not get it on either. They said they don't carry this tire for that reason. Sad to say it didn't work for me.
