Performance Meets Safety
The MET Trenta MIPS Helmet is the result of thirty years of making helmets for the very best in the sport of cycling. In that time MET have learned, refined and developed their products, getting faster, lighter and more comfortable with every generation, and this helmet is the manifestation of that legacy. Featuring the MIPS-C2® brain protection system, the MET Trenta Mips is able to slide relative to the head in the case of a crash, redirecting damaging rotational motion.
Fit & Security
MIPS is a brain protection system — engineered to add 10% extra safety to the standard construction of helmets in case of certain impacts. The MIPS Brain Protection System (BPS) is attached inside the helmet, between the comfort padding and the EPS.
The SAFE-T ORBITAL fit system features an all-round belt that offers 360° adjustment with 4 positions for vertical adjustment and 2 positions for occipital adjustment. Plus it's ponytail and MET USB LED light compatible.
Aerodynamics & Ventilation
Originally developed by NACA, a precursor to NASA, the position of this inlet at the front of the helmet has a cooling effect. Harnessing the power of the Venturi effect, the vent pushes out the warm air within the helmet through specially positioned exhausts. This ensures constant airflow through the helmet, without catching the wind and creating drag.
The tail of the helmet also has an aerodynamic purpose. It works in synergy with the NACA front vent and the rear deflector to effectively drive airflow. It has a lower profile at the rear, developed thanks to specific wind-tunnel testing in the NEWTON laboratory of Milan.

Reviews
I've been using a dark grey POC Ventral for the last few years. It's been a great helmet, but got a little hot during the long summer endurance races I would ride. I've never owned a MET helmet before, but was inspired by Tadej's dominant performance this year and decided to imitate! (I know, I know - fanboy stuff). I got it in white this time to try and keep my head cool on hot summer rides. This helmet vents great and while quite a bit more compact than the POC (external dimensions), it feels great and so far, I love it. Catch it on sale and I think it's a great value!
This is probably the best-fitting and best-looking road helmet I've ever had in my 30 years of cycling. The design allows for good coverage, and is not wide on the sides like other helmets that create the "mushroom tip" look that no one likes. It's light weight and well-vented. It's spendy, but the current sale that BTD has makes it a good deal. I think you get what you pay for with the Trenta.
