Lift The Veil On Speed
The MET Manta Mips is an excellent example of MET's aesthetic and contemporary design. Led by the insight of pros and the demands of cyclists, the helmet takes on four areas of focus: safety, aerodynamics, fit and style. With these elements in mind, the design of the new Manta Mips draws on the natural geometry of its predecessor as a guide. It's as brilliant as the original, but with sharper looks and cutting-edge performance.
Aerodynamics & Ventilation
The Manta Mips is more aerodynamic that its predecessor thanks to its lower and tube-shaped profile at the rear, which was developed with specific wind-tunnel testing in the NEWTON laboratory of Milan. MET have engineered the internal shape to channel the air and their signature NACA Vent works in synergy with the specially positioned exhaust ensuring a constant airflow through the helmet, without catching the wind and creating drag.
Fit & Security
Beyond its technical prowess, the Manta Mips is also exceptionally comfortable. The 360° head belt ensures that there will be no pressure points on the skull and its internal shape is inspired by the award-winning MET Trenta 3K Carbon. The SAFE-T ORBITAL fit system features an all-round belt that offers 360° adjustment with 4 positions for vertical adjustment and 2 positions for occipital adjustment. Plus it's ponytail and MET USB LED light compatible.
Every single production batch of MET helmets is strictly tested in their own lab. To enhance safety further, the new Manta features the MIPS-C2® brain protection system, which allows the helmet shell to slide relative to the head in the event of a crash, redirecting potentially harmful rotational energy.

Reviews
Coming from a gen 1 Kask Protone. Got the MET for MIPS technology and to have a new look over the old Protone in a semi-aero design. Overall I love the Manta. The Fidlock took a little getting used to but now I love it and it's easier to disconnect one-handed vs a traditional clasp. The sizing was spot-on, running a touch larger than the Protone in the size medium I went with with my 58cm head. Ventilation is not bad but probably a step behind the Protone. However the Manta is better at not channeling the sweat straight to your eyes and sunglasses like the Protone liked to do. Only real detractor of the Manta is that it is harder to get my sunglasses in the sunglass ports with one hand than it was with the Protone. Other than that, I think I like the manta better in every way.
