The lightweight Ksyrium Equipe S has been updated with integrated tire technology and a sleek new look, all while maintaining its budget friendly price.
By integrating a specific tire to each wheel, Mavic can better control how the stresses from the tire affect the rim and wheel and thus how the wheel performs overall. As an added plus, the integration provides a consistent graphical approach to your tires and wheels.
The lightweight rim extrusion benefits from H2 hammer hardening for extra strength. Like the more expensive Ksyrium wheels, the Equipe S features a perfectly machined UB Controlled braking surface and SUP welded/machined construction for an optimum combination of performance and durability.
The included Yksion Comp tires feature a quick rolling, optimized rubber compound and 120 TPI polycotton/Kevlar casing. And, in case you want more options, Mavic's wheel systems are compatible with any clincher replacement tire.
The Ksyrium Equipe S features 20 spokes on the front laced radially, and 24 spokes on the rear laced in Mavic's IsoPulse pattern (radial drive; 2X non-drive), smooth QRM cartridge bearings and the FTS-L freehub body.
The Ksyrium Equipe S Wheel System is available in Black. Choose Shimano/SRAM 8/9/10/11 or Campagnolo 9/10/11-speed compatible versions. The claimed weight for the wheels and tires is 2300 grams. The claimed weight for the wheels alone is 1690 grams.

Closing the gap between mid price, and high performance
First, please note, the 5 star rating is based on mid level wheel set. I got a set of Enve 45 classics with DT Swiss 240 hubs, which also get a 5 star rating. But needless to say, on a much bigger scale...ANYWAY, these wheels rock. I have a set of Equipes from 09 which have served me faithfully, and the new ones I like even better. Lighter weight, and improved aesthetics are nice, but the bottom line is performance, and these wheels deliver, as do their older brothers. Unless your racing for a pile of cash, these wheels will do for just about anybody. No noticeable shaking on steep decents, no going out of true, no complaints. And the price makes them a no brainer. Thanks for reading. Chilly D
