Continental's Grand Prix Force is a new breed of race tire. It's specifically designed for the rear wheel, using a wider 24mm contact patch for efficient power transfer while maintaining a reasonable weight.

The Black Chili compound uses smaller carbon particles which have more contact points for improved grip and the ability to form more easily around imperfections in the road surface for lower rolling resistance. The smaller particles also fit closer together for longer tread life. The Vectran breaker wards of flats but is also supple for less rolling resistance and greater comfort than other puncture resistant barriers.

The Grand Prix Force Tire is available in 700c x 24mm (24-622 ISO) and features a 3 ply casing for a total of 330 TPI. 110-120 recommended PSI. Claimed weight: 195 grams. Black.

The Grand Prix Force is designed to be paired with the GP Attack tire on the front wheel.

I use the Force on my front wheel because 25c tires are too large.

There is a lot of new construction going on where I do most of my training. It may be the tires or it may be luck, but I haven't had a flat since I put the Continental Force on my bike (not on the rear wheel either even though it is a Vittoria Open Corsa). Being able to run lower tire pressures with the higher volume tires is big because I have a very unforgiving bicycle frame. Most of the time I use tubulars for racing, but I use these on rough and uneven courses.

I use this as a 700x24 front pair with another Force 700x24 in the back

I use this as a 700x24 front pair with another Force 700x24 in the back. The combination gives me great grip and comfort on the front end. I don't care that I'm supposed to use their 22mm front tire. I like this one front and back! Very supple feel and a confident grip in the corners. Plus having the one size on both wheels adds some versatility if one wears before the other. It's the tire for me whether I'm doing a triathlon or fooling around on weekends.

2012 was a terrible year for bike tires. I went through three and countless tubes. While I thought this tire sounded gimmicky, I tried it. No flats for 2013. Tire held up for 2,500 miles easily. I'm sold.
