Peace of mind has never been more affordable with Take a Look's simple yet effective mirror design. The three-prong clamp attaches securely and easily to virtually any glasses frame or helmet visor and allows for a vibration-free view of what's behind. Combining a small-profile frame with a wide borderless mirror means that forward vision isn't obstructed while also insuring a quick glance is all that's needed to get a complete rearward view.

Steel, brass, and acrylic construction means this highly portable mirror is strong enough to handle the toils of the everyday commute and durable enough for a multi-day tour in changing weather.

Available in a regular and a compact version with less arm extension and a shorter mirror. Both can be mounted directly to a helmet using the optional helmet adapter.

Once you use it, it will be hard to ride without it

I started using a mirror as a ride leader for a local cycling group so I could keep an eye on cyclists behind me. Once I got used to it which really didn't take long, I felt I was missing a critical piece of cycling gear whenever I rode without one.

The regular version may be a bit too close to the eyes for most people since it blocks a lot of your peripheral vision. I find the extended versions works better.

The mirror slides onto the eyeglass temple pieces. Some eyeglasses, particularly the fancier cycling eyewear, have oddly shaped temple pieces that may make it difficult to mount these, so take this into consideration.

In general, I found the eyeglass mounted mirrors to be more effective than helmet mounted or bike mounted mirrors. Helmet mounted mirrors inevitably get dislodged since they are generally attached with simple adhesive. Bike mounted mirrors tend to vibrate too much for my taste, and don't have a wide enough view to get the full picture of what is behind you.

Why did I not buy this before?!

It attaches to my sunglasses and is angled for maximum and sufficient rearview. For several weeks I have used this item, the first of its kind that I have used. I have no complaints about it at all. I ride city streets with lots of motor traffic multiple times a week. No longer need I twist my neck around to see what is behind me. If you ride your bike where cars are driven, there is nothing to decide but to get this mirror.

Excellent Optics, kinda funky mounting system

Use for road cycling. Took me a while to figure out proper placement on my helmet visor. Finally mounted it with a zip tie. Works good, has very good optics. Much better than most bike mirrors. Price was good from BTD!

Only one I'll use...

Road biking. Helmet or eyeglass mirrors take a little while to get used to, but once you do, you'll feel hindered by the limited view of the bike mounted ones. Tried several others but kept coming back to this one for ease of adjustment and stability.

Don't bother reading this and place this item in your cart.

Just got back from my first ride with this mirror. Wow. I've spent hundreds of dollars on fancy neon clothing, flashing lights, reflective fabrics... and nothing even comes close to the amount of safety that this tiny $XX device brings! Not only does it provide you, the cyclist, with information about cars behind you, but, for the first time in my four seasons of cycling, I felt like a valued vehicle on the road. There's an odd psychological behavior that I observed, and I'm not sure how to explain it, but if cars behind you know that you can see them behind you (you slightly tilting your head to view vehicles as they approach), they're much less likely to try something stupid (pass you with a semi-truck approaching in the other lane). Today, in my short 1-hour ride, I had three cars wait to pass me until the opposite lane was clear. No vehicle passed me with cars in the opposite lane. I even had people wait to pass me until no-passing lanes ended! It was amazing! I had more cars treat me like a vehicle in one ride than I have historically been treated in years! I'm not sure why mirrors have this effect and not flashing lights or certain clothes, but heck, for $XX... that's a steal. Stop reading and buy it. Your life is worth more than an IMAX movie.

Life Saver

I know, I know...roadies would never be caught dead using a rear view mirror. Well, all I can say is that over the past few years my life has been saved from certain murder by idiot drivers making that right hand turn inches right across my right of way. I refuse to ride unless my rear view mirror is on my shades.

I think those who disdain using them have never really given them any sort of one month trial. Perhaps they are afraid they will actually find them very useful. Being able to see traffic behind you is a must with all the distracted drivers constantly trying to murder bicyclists and it is only getting worse every day.

Excellent Product

I rode for many years without a rear view mirror. Simply put, this was the best investment I have ever made in regards to safety. Now I couldn't imagine riding without it.

Clips right on to my plastic frame Ray-Ban's no problem, nice and snug, never shifts or slips. Very easy to adjust, then stays put.

Great accessory for knowing what's behind you.

I have had several different mirrors ranging from those mounted to the bar ends, helmet and glasses and have found these to be my favorites. They adjust easily and once you find the set up that works best for you it's not hard to reset them prior to a ride. Some mention having a longer reach for better vision, but I've not found this to be an issue. They are invaluable when riding in areas with traffic and remove the necessity for turning your head to check prior to moving left or turning. On the occassion of forgetting them, I feel uneasy without the ability to check what's going on behind me. The price is fair and I have found them to wear well and to last for several years without issues.

Blind spot

I tried this mirror and kept messing with it trying to get the mirror to see traffic, and when I did I had a blind spot that was too large to accept. Not sure it my problems were related to the design of the frame of my glasses, or if no matter what glass frame I would have used the result would have been the same, I'm not going to buy another pair of glasses to find out, some reviewers here love them so I suggest you try it and see what you think. Next time I buy a mirror I'll try a helmet mounted one and see if that works better. I think the product is overpriced too.

Won't ride without it.

Clips onto RudyProject Rydon frames firmly - a bit of adjustment required to get 'just right' - but its very flexible in all directions.

I have had 3 of these mirrors over the years.. the mirror always outlasts the little black rubber tips that protect your eyewear and hold it in place. Tendency to rip over time, but, I remove the 'good one' from another mirror to replace it.

Best part is clear field of vision.

Not as long as I'd like

I've had a cyclist mirror years ago, but lost them in a move so I picked these up. The usefulness of such mirrors comes into play (for me) when I'm riding and needing to stay diligent of traffic coming up from behind. Still, the mirror I had previously was longer and it's apparent in the set up. That this one is relatively short-extends to less than four inches in length-takes away from an effective configuration requiring you to move your head when to see what's behind you. I wear wide-stem Tifosi sunglasses when riding and the mirror connects snugly-no worries about adjustment shifting once the bracket is installed, but I also have a pair of wire Oakley's. You can forget installing these are wire thin glasses. Overall the quality is good, but again, I've seen this product with a longer extension that simply works better. If I have to turning my head and focus (due to the short stem) takes longer than taking a look over the shoulder-it does-there's really no point in having a mirror at all.

didn't work for me

I had never used a helmet/glasses mounted mirror. This one was a little too big. The mirror portion was too large and created a blind spot looking forward that freaked me out. I think I could get used to having the blind spot forward if the mirror itself were smaller. I've seen some like this with a mirror half the size.

Works well-stays put.

Works well and stays put on 35-mile rides. Have used about a dozen times. Swiveled mirror flat each time to store when done - works, looks and fits like brand new. Mirror is fairly large and thick, but light. Appears to be polycarbonate, but don't let that scare you. The view is flawlessly flat and clear (optical grade), and poly is less likely to fog and will never shatter. Fits snugly on my metal-framed glasses. I intend to use this when walking with ear-buds to keep a better awareness of traffic.

Good connection, but I'd prefer a smaller mirror.

The system attaches securely to my Oakley M frame glasses. It's a little difficult to get on , but once connected, it's on to stay.

I'd prefer a smaller mirror that doesn't create such a large blind spot. I have the longer mirror and I think the short one would be even worse.

I think this will be more durable than prior plastic mirrors I've had.

The one. The only

I've tried a few of these mirrors. This one is the only one I'd recommend. It's also the only one that people on my team (Grizzly Peaks Cyclists) rides with.

Buy one.

The best - nothing else even comes close

Excellent mirror. Literally gives you eyes on the back of your head. Go for the full length - the compact is too short to see much of anything behind you and the full size isn't as heavy as you'd think.

Had tried several different mirrors, this one best so far. Even had to get three more for my wife and two friends

Adjustable and sturdy. When put on my glasses, it stays there, no chance of falling off. Great rear vision with it.
