When it's actually working, it provides good data, but I spend more time trying to get it to work than it spends working.
First off, the battery is incredibly finicky. About 2/3 of the time when I put a brand new battery in, it doesn't work at all. I've tried half a dozen different brands, I test the battery voltage before I install it, I've tried all the troubleshooting tips to lift the contacts and clean them with isopropyl--nothing makes a difference. 4iiii unhelpfully suggests using a coin cell without a bitter coating, which is not a thing you can buy anywhere. So, 50/50 shot the battery doesn't work, throw it away and try a different one.
Once I get a battery that seems like it works, sometimes it won't connect to Garmin or the app. The only fix I've found for that one is to factory reset it and set it up from scratch again. One time connecting it to Garmin locked up my Garmin so badly I had to factory reset the Garmin too.
Once you actually have it connected and working, the battery life is abysmal. It's good for about two weeks or 20 hours of riding, and then it starts dropping out mid-ride and you have to go through the Finicky Battery ritual again.
Easily the most annoying piece of gear I own. I hate it so much but it was too expensive to throw away and it's such a piece of junk I feel like it would be wrong to sell it. I just keep hoping, futilely, that it will magically start working correctly. Avoid at all costs.
Great price on a great product. I bought one for all my bikes. Their software is a bit meh, but I just use the Garmin head unit and it pairs perfectly and works every time. They have a great warranty and stand behind their products.
