Review by chris5834Reviewed 6/19/2020by chris5834Competitive RacerDallas, TXA proven favorite! My road bike came equipped with these brake pads to go with the Zipp 404 carbon wheels. When they wore-down I tried some other types and brands of carbon brake pads just because I could save a few dollars. Turns out, though, that it wasn't a good deal in the end. Other brake pads I tried made a slick surface of the carbon braking area, reducing stopping power. These Zipp Tangente pads don't do that! They provide great stopping power without marring the carbon brake surface. It seems to me, too, that they don't wear as fast as some of the earlier versions. I'm getting plenty of life from these and I won't go back to any other brand ever again!

Review by HerbReviewed 8/17/2020by HerbCycling EnthusiastSan DiegoMust haves if you are using Zipp wheelsI have been riding Zipp 202 wheels for six years and have always used the Zipp brake pads. They do not wear out the wheels and the braking is not bad. All carbon wheels do not brake as well as alloy but these pads are very predictable and consistent. My wheels show no wear to speak of in the brake track so these pads have been a great investment to preserve very expensive wheels. Highly recommended.

Review by Mike KReviewed 4/6/2020by Mike KCycling EnthusiastNYCFantastic Stopping Power in ALL ConditionsI have used these brake pads on my Zipp 303's for descents in the Alps, Dolomites, Vermont and California. The stopping power at high speeds is incredible, there is no squeak or noise, and the feeling of safety that comes w the knowledge that you can slow down when hitting speeds of 40mph plus and bank into a turn - priceless. These pads are expensive, I find they last about 3-5000 miles, but Zipp wheels are expensive and staying upright and on the road is priceless. No brake compares

Review by #1Reviewed 4/15/2019by #1Cycling Enthusiastsf bay areagood but expensiveI been using these brake pads on my Zipp rims for a few years now. First, the positives, goodreasonable braking in all conditions, (wet a little worse) bad, way too expensive for what you get and they wear out somewhat fast (2000-3500 miles). Caveats here are I am using them on some really hilly courses and I am no lightweight but the best price overall is through biketiresdirect.com and of course, if you go, you gotta stop, eh?

Review by AndySReviewed 2/9/2017by AndySCompetitive RacerPhoenix, AZ1 of 1 customers found this review helpful.Expensive but stopping is necessaryStopping is really important especially when you spend a lot of money on your bike and wheels. I'm okay spending extra for a quality product and this is a quality product. And they work.

Review by RoadpebReviewed 1/17/2017by RoadpebCycling EnthusiastNew EnglandNothing better for Zipp wheels although a bit pricey and wears quickly.Works very well with Zipp break tracks in all weather. Soft compound provides no squeal, tenacious grab, and oddly I have had no imbedded debris. High price but well worth it on Daily Special.

Review by TomReviewed 8/2/2018by TomChicago, ILExpensive but niceThese pads are expensive, but they do a good job of stopping and they last fairly long. Naturally, their effectiveness is also governed by the break track on your carbon wheels.

Review by AnonymousReviewed 8/5/2014by Anonymous1 of 1 customers found this review helpful.Great stopping powerThese are to be used with carbon rims, and in dry conditions they are indistinguishable from alloy rims. Still good stopping power in the wet. Zipp wheel warranty says you must use carbon-specific brake pads and these are good ones.
