As someone who hot waxes chains, I find YBN master links to be an economical link because they can be reused, whereas other manufacturers restrict their links to one usage. I'm sure there are a handful of oil lubers who remove their chains frequently for cleaning, those of us who hot wax remove our chains more frequently out of necessity. Typically, I find two YBN master links will last for the lifespan of one chain.

I have used the 12 speed several times. I find them easy to install,long lasting and maintaining excellent shifti in a pinch they function well with several brands of 12 speed chains. This is a personal decision and only those comfortable with this input should use them in pinch.

I like that you can use these multiple times. Sometimes you've just got to pull a chain. Waxing, deep cleaning or it just wore out. Re-using most others isn't officially supported, so if it lets go, the blame is yours. These are inexpensive, and with 6 in the pack, good for up to a total of 30 uses.

Since I wax my chains I do open and close the master links on my 12-speed Shimano chains more frequently. So far I have used the Shimano links probably longer than recommended - so these more affordable links are a great replacement. No issues, no differences to Shimano. I use them for road and mountain biking.
