I have a lot of bikes that are mostly vintage 1970's and 1980's steel frames with a variety of upgraded components. Recently, I started converting over from 25mm width to 28mm width. While I don't race and most of my riding is on chip seal roads, I still like the comfort and response from a quality tire. I bought some Conti Grand Prix 5000 and to me there's nothing bad to be said about them except they are pricey, irrespective if they are worth it. I decided to give these Zaffiro Pro V g2.0 a try. These Zaffiro tires are half the price of the Grand Prix. They have folding beads and are relatively light weight. I find the ride almost as smooth as the Grand Prix. I drop the tire pressure by about 3 psi from the Grand Prix, and the ride quality is indistinguishable to me. Given that I am riding on chip seal, I tend to pump these to 65 psi, and that smooths out the chip seal bumps. The tire is reputed to resist punctures, and (hoping I'm not jinxing myself) I have not had one yet. They are also reputed to wear much better than racing tires, but I've not ridden them enough to say. However, I've always been fairly easy on tires, usually getting 4000 miles of use before putting them out to pasture. I'm confident that they'll not wear that fast even onrough roads. For a training tire, which it is, my opinion is that it a five star product and a five star value. For this money, I don't think one could do any better. Now, if you are racing and are looking for every edge in your equipment, then you know you should be using high performance tires with latex tubes to race. But racers need to train, and these are training tires that would serve excellently in that role. If your team is paying for your tires, then who cares? However, if you are paying for them, you probably like a good value.

Great all-round tire and the best price you can get with a folding bead. Grip is great in the dry ( I'm in Southern California, so I can't comment on the wet. Wear is on-par or better than most tires in enduro/trainer class.

I was using very expensive racing tires like the Corsa Pro and Continental 5000 CP. These are very good tires but I simply don't ride them close enough to their limits to make them worthwhile. They wear too rapidly and get flats a little too often.
I tried using the Michelin Pro4 but they flatted to much.
The Zaffiro is a good all around winter tires that saves money and provides all of the flat protection of a Gatorskin with better traction.

I've been very impressed by the Zaffiro Pro VG.20 tires. Have over 2,200 miles on them and still a lot of wear left. Only 2 flats during those miles. Additional it provides a nicer ride then the Contis they replaced.

Bought these for general use tires and was surprised that I can run them a bit lower pressure without any problems. Wear has been good at the first 1K miles. Width is a bit narrower than stated but no trouble mounting. Overall good value in a training tire without excess weight.

These tires have proved to be a really great tire. I put about 1000 miles on them in the first month I've had them. The ride is quiet, comfortable, and handle very well. With a 1000 miles on them there is minimal wear so looks like they will have good durability. With BTD prices these are a great value, too.

Been using this tire for 3 years while riding 4-5 days a week. Very good value. Can't beat this tire for training.

We are now using this tire on both of my wife's Specialized Carbon road bikes. She says the ride quality is excellent - smooth despite the 115 psi maximum. Installation on the wheels is fairly easy - much better than the rigid version of this tire, which I installed earlier on my Kestrels. I will get the foldable version from now on.
We ride our bikes daily, and these tires seem to be holding up very well.

Wish I had these tires when I was competing and putting in those big miles. Wore the back tire out at round 3K miles and never got a flat. Finally replaced after the core was very visible. Good traction, fair on the speed, and certainly reliable. Put 2K on the front tire and no flats. No need to 2nd guess on a decision to buys these.

Can't go wrong with any Vittorio G2 tire. I have used these on my wife's and my road bikes and trail bikes. We have found these to be the best combination for ride quality, flat resistance, and long wear.

I'm very happy with these tires! For more traction and a better ride, I upped the size from 700x25 to 700x30. (The actual width of 30 is 28 when mounted on 19 mm rims.) 450 miles and wearing well with no cuts. I mounted a pair on my wife's bike and bought a backup pair. I run pressures at 70 rear, 65 front. Excellent value!

This is by far the best tire for it's money.
What very much helps me is that this tire is relatively easy to mount onto the wheel. (It's great for people with arthritic hands).

I bought four 700 x 25mm and two 700 x 28mm Vittoria Zaffiro Pro V G2.0 tires. The 25mm width tires measured at 23mm when mounted & inflated to 100psi on Mavic 19C wheels. The 28mm width tires measured at 25mm when mounted & inflated to 100psi on Mavic 19C wheels. Plan on ordering up a size to get true width.

Not surprisingly I use these tires on my bike. They perform as advertised

These tires are awesome. These are my first ever 700cx28 tires and it gives you so much comfort and stability. I'm able to run lower pressure so the bike feels less hard on the pavement. Fortunately, my Fuji Roubaix has enough clearance to accommodate wider tires.
