SMOOTH ALL THE WAY!!!

I bought these tires for my first flat bar rodie. I originally had some KENDA KRITERIUM 700 X 23 but those were a bit too narrow. As I am using this bike for commuting I didn't find it to safe for me yet. As I've heard 700 X 25 provide a better stability at least better control. Can't say much anything else but tires feel very smooth and no loss of control either. Thru the bumps and tears on the street the tire had pretty good rolling resistance. Will provide status after at least the first hundred miles or so.

Thank you for your feedback.

Big bang for the bucks!

These tires are not the greatest, but they're far from the worst. At $13, to get anything made by Vittoria is a steal. Traction is great on dry pavement and decent on wet pavement. I feel confident riding these in any weather.

long lasting, fine ride - sale price

Punish me later, I don't rotate my tires so my front is still going, but I got just about 3000 miles in on my rear tire. I ride a mix of smooth and decaying asphalt roads with the ever-increasingly usual beer bottle remains in our bike paths. I do use a tire liner so although a few of those chips have cut the tires I have had no flats and no blow-outs. Even with one long slice no cross face tears. I bought at the sale price but even if I bought regular price it would be a durable value.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great Value, but carry spare tubes.

Vittoria has always been a solid standby for me. All of their tires are a great value. I mostly roll on Specialized Armadillos and pump to max psi every time I ride. These tend to pick up more debris and get flat easier...still not as much as a Continental Ultra Sport.

Thank you for your feedback.

Nice tire nice price

I have the Zaffiro in a 28mm for my commuter -an older Schwinn la Tour- they look quite nice matching the tube shape in profile. They ride very comfortably and though not fast they have a good smooth feel on the road and not terribly slow. Over all good contact rolling and cornering, the tread seems adequate and casing durable. I've only had them on for a month but feel confident that they will be a long lasting tire as I'm running Vittoria's Rubino 23mm on my racetrain bike and they are just showing wear at well over 2K miles. I have become a fan of Vittorias price value, ride quality, and longevity.

I've had good luck with these tires....

I've had two or three sets, 25s and 28s, and hardly a flat. Wore the tires out on the rims. Especially at the price, and obviously if you are not expecting that pricey tire ride, these are a great value.

VERY comfortable and tough

For the price I can't imagine you would find a better tire. I was running 23's before, some cheap chinese brand, which cost the same as these zaffiros. These just smooth out the bumps and I even skidded a few times with the tire and I do not see any marks whatsoever. Excellent set of tires for the money.

Performing Well, So Far.

I've put over 600 miles on paved trails (wooded with debris) so far and they're doing well. Probably not the best fit for my road bike, but they're more than adequate to endure my almost daily use. While the tire price was reasonable, the freight charge and delivery time (which was what I typically experience for free with Amazon) left me wondering if the overall value wasn't so hot.

Can't beat the price, durable grippy and roll fast if you want.

I've experienced one flat with these tires - on my first ride out with them. Ran over a construction staple which punctured the tire, and would have punctured any tire. A bit of gorilla tape inside, and they now have 1500 miles on them with no issues. The back is starting to show wear, the front is not. Will probably just switch them and keep rolling.

No problem keeping up on club rides with guys running the tires they say are much faster. Draft riding on the fast stretches over 30mph, hardly any effort. Great tire.

Quality tire for the price

Keep spending [$$] plus on tires...these babies roll great and last a long time and they set me back [$] each! Work perfectly with my new HED rims.

Good price but had several flats within the 3 months.

I moved the tire to the front wheel after several flats. The price was good and I feel I'll have fewer flats with it on the front. There is a degree of dificulty mounting it. You might want to spread a thin film of soap on the rim to get the last lip over the rim.

Thank you for your feedback.

have to replace started getting punctures after 1,600 miles (rear)

I guess I was tempted to buy these for the price and the puncture resistance claim. My rear tire is looking pretty worn after 1,800 miles. In the last 200 miles the rear tire has punctured twice. I hate repairing flats and would gladly pay $10 more per tire to get better reliability. So no, I would not recommend.

I use 700x28 mm on a road bike in SE Florida, typically 50 mile rides on AIA a couple of times a week. Riding across bridges with high cross winds, metal grates, and wet concrete was pretty terrifying when these tires were new. For a long time I wouldn't inflate above 100 psi. They actually grip better now, but the current surface is soft it has worn down in patches from a few hard brake situations and they are very cut up from debris. They are OK for normal cornering and the ride is reasonably comfortable.

Thank you for your feedback.

Bead Blew Apart During Ride

These tires felt smooth and fast but fell apart the first 20 miles. The rubber that surrounds the cloth bead is peeing off along the entire bead surface. They were mounted correctly. I have been a bike tech for 10 years. Spend your money on a safer tire. This is a safety hazard.

AWESOME Training Tire

I have used this tires for about a year for training only(well I did race with them once but that wasn't on purpose). I have had one one little problem and I am not sure what happened or how it happened but I think since they are cheap and they last a long time if one has some sort of little failure it does not matter much.

Great Price

Even for a training tire I think it is a great price and it has a lot of traction for the fall and winter cycling.

Durable training tire that provides comfortable ride

I am a recreationalfitness rider and use these tires for both leisurely rides and more intense fitness rides. Tires have nice, thick tread for durability, and, according to the inscription on the sidewall, take up to 140 psi (and 110 minimum!). Ride is comfortable.

Very good for the price

I ride a lot. Thousands of miles a year. These tires do not wear a long time, they are not particularly flat proof. But they are great for the cost. I've bought them for friends a long time out of work and though one of them is rather large at some 240 lbs he has gotten 2,000 miles on a set swapping back to front when it was getting a bit worn. And remember that the San Francisco area has a lot of steep hills and poorly maintained roads.

Thank you for your feedback.

Just what I was looking for!

The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 are because I do not know how they will change over time. Specifically they where very hard to actually get both sides inside the rim prior to pumping up. 1 side was easy, then the last 10% of the other side required use of a tool. This might have been because their is actually a metal wile reinforcing the lips (clincher part that hooks onto the rim) as oppose to my last tire that was all rubber. I anticipate this metal to be a good thing in function because it should be stronger. I am curious if in the future replacing a tube will be easier once the tire is broken in. Anyway, great price and works well so far!
