This tire has more side-knob than you would imagine. In deep sand/scree/dirt, don't expect it to do much until you lean into the side knobs for bite. This is certainly a purpose built XC tire that would be perfect on big days with lots of gravel connectors. I raced this for 50 miles in Lake City, Colorado and had no issues with flats. Sidewall looks very thin, but I consider this very much a race tire.
Putting this tire on a lightweight hardtail feels the most appropriate. Something that you can take to a gravel race or hit singletrack with. Definitely much faster than the Maxxis offerings I have tested/used/raced.

super fast tires, more grip than expected.

Fast rolling great rear tire for my XC race bike with the new Mezcal on the front. This is my new race setup for the year. They needed a better rear use tire than the Mezcal for front and rear and this nails it. Wouldn't run in very wet or muddy conditions obviously.

Have had this on as a rear tire most of the season with a Victoria XC insert and have not flatted once. Cant ask for much more. Fast and reliable

First go with Vittoria MTB tires! Couldn't wait to try this new pattern out. These things roll like road bike tires on pavement and smooth dirt. They're so efficient. They plump up to a proper 2.4, weigh 720g give or take a few grams, supple, grippy, and so far quite durable on jagged rocks of North Carolina. Haven't put many miles on them yet to comment on long term durability, but so far they rip! The one negative I suppose is the price. Would be interested to compare these to the new Mezcals.

I used these tires this year at 24HOP and they were great!!! Really fast and didn't have any issues with durability. I will be using the Peyote XC Race tires this year at the Leadville MTB 100.
