For my area, Park City and surrounding area, the Mezcal up front and Peyote in back is a great lighter weight option. Our conditions are mostly hardback with some sand and occasional this mud (if we're lucky). They seem to handle the rocky sections no problem and are very durable but what I noticed the most, switching from the Maxxis Aspens, is the rolling weight. These tires are definitely faster on the climbs.

Most durable tire in the market. I swap tires a lot and feel confident running these with tpu for endurance bike packing' but they add nearly half a kg due to the extra sidewall protection

Living in a rocky environment (NWA), the trail versions of the Vittoria tires are definitely more robust than the race versions to handle the environment, while only being marginally slower. I went through 2 sets of XC race in a 3 month timespan (~400 miles), and these are keeping up.
