Very comfortable and excellent handling tire. Great durability too

Running my second set of these tires. They roll great and give the great feel of a tubular. Ride them a solid 600 miles then put some sealant in just in case. Not one flat and over 3000miles.

Thank you for your feedback.

Ride....no worries

I'm an avid cyclist who never worries about the terrain I'm faced with riding when tufo's on my bike! Tufo tires are comparatively priced and wear better than conventional tires with tubes. With Tufo's I focus on riding not obstacles.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great Tire!

Have been using these tires two years (22,442.9 miles). Feels fine. I have Tubulars too. Vittoria, Conti, etc. I don't feel like I'm giving up my Dunlap for Chin Cheng on my Goldwing. To me, they feel the same. Maybe I'm insensitive. Got a pinch flat with Vittoria in a race and the Porsche feel Michelin super lite tires in another race. Pinch flat with Diamente Pro. Should have stuck with Tufos. Might have won those races, darn it!

I have gotten flats with Tufos but sealant installed before flats helps. Extreme sealant enables at least 1000 miles, thereafter.

Thank you for your feedback.

Very comfortable ride. Tip to mount more easily.

I ride country roads on eastern edge of Pennsylvania Appalachians on mostly well maintained roads. The tires are noticeably more comfortable than other clinchers I have used, Conti 4000 and Vredestein Fortezza. First time mounting was an exercise in frustration. Found a great solution. Put new ties in a drier for 15 minutes on medium heat, then pre-stretched them according to instructions. No sweat, literally. Worth a try. BTW, I am 63, so should be easy for the rest of you road warriors.

Thank you for your feedback.

Solid and Affordable Tire

I've only used these tires since I bought my current bike. There isn't much to complain about these tires. I haven't had any major problems other than normal wear and tear occurring. I did recently have a blow out, but it was on an olddd set of tires that had not been stored properly (left in the heat and sun...) so that was not the tire's fault at all. They hold pressure very well as I do not have to pump them often when I'm riding on a regular basis.

Overall great tire that rolls very fast. Awesome buy for those who need the high PSI at a decent price with long-lasting durability and great speed.

Thank you for your feedback.

Impossible to mount

I purchased these tires hoping to recapture the feel of riding tubulars without having to cough up the extra coin for a tubular wheel set. 1 hour and three bloody fingers later, I called it quits on trying to mount these to my clincher wheels. Nice idea, but I reverted to my tubless clinchers and remembered that they are every bit as nice as the tubular experience. I returned these and really appreciate biketiredirect's speedy credit.

Thank you for your feedback.

Tufo Tubular Clincher Super Nice Ride

I ride a fixed Fixed Gear bike 160-200 miles a week for training, and decided to give TUFO Tubular Clinchers a try from a bike buddies recommendation. Purchased Tufo Special TC from BikeTiresDirect at a great price and quick delivery.

I decided to use on my front wheel.

After removing rim strip, with smooth valve stem in rim hole and the rim on the floor I stretched the tire onto the rim rather easily.

The tricky part is getting the 'groove' to snap into place. The hardest part is at the stem, so start there and slowly work your way around using your thumbs. Pretty easy once you get the feel of it and once snapped into place the tire inflates very smoothly and uniformly around the rim. I checked the seating of the tire multiple times before inflating fully. The valve stem has a removable core and is 'smooth' like a Michelin Presta Valve so it is gentle on the rubber gasket of you pump.

I ride the TUFO TC at 100 psi (Front) and this pressure is comfortable and gives a slight tire depressing while riding of about 15% (Recommended).

The ride is silky smooth and feels very quick on straight aways and very secure while corning.

The tire bead has remained perfectly seated and secure at all times.

I ride with 12 bottle of Standard Sealant in the tire, and have been flat free, so far. I ride fairly clean roads, and deflate tire slightly after my ride.

My early impression is the TUFO is a fairly easy install. The ride is wonderful and secure. Price from BikeTiresDirect for the Special Model is similar to a GatorSkin Clincher and tube, so for this model price is not a deterrent.

I am very pleased with my TUFO Special Tubular Clincher and was very happy with my purchase from BikeTiresDirect

great tire,no more tubes and pumps

I normally run conti gp4000,but a number of flats got me looking for alturnative tires .I didnt like the mess and expense of tubulars nor did I want a heavier kevlar belted tire.A friend of mine is an aerospace engineer and he told me about tufo tires and that he has been using them for years. He rides 30 -50 miles five days a week and has ridden home ten miles with a flat front tire .Tufo tubular clinchers offer the best of both worlds,no glue no pumps and tubes

Excellent all-around tire

Used on a Felt DA with 606 rims. I've been riding Tufo tires for a couple of years and find that they suit my needs very well.

STRENGTHS

Durability

No tools needed to install or remove, and the process (once the tire is well stretched) is quick

Weight vis a vis clinchers

Weaknesses

If you have a small pinprick, then you need a completely new tire (not just an inner tube).

Putting on a tire for the FIRST time is challenging to hard. When you get a new one, I recommend that you stretch it out on a spare rim until you're ready to use or install it on your training or race wheelset.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great Ride

Bought these tires a month ago and have rode 285 miles to date on some beat up Colorado roads. No flats with some slight cuts. I am riding them at 160psi and I weigh in at 245 lbs. These tires run fast and give a fat guy me a little more speed.

Thank you for your feedback.

Jury is out

Weighed against the Vredstein Fortezza TriComp tires a cheap inner tube and rim tape these are actually 14g heavier and that's without any tire sealant in them. Also all the weight is further out on the wheel. They feel fast at 140psi but really uncomfortable at 130psi they feel slow but comfy.

Overall they don't feel any better than a clincher, No better than the Vredstein's but cheaper if you exclude the sealant. Here is hoping they last as well and are as flat resistant.

Thank you for your feedback.

my new favorite tires

my rides are mainly recreational, and when my friend told me how much he liked the tufo tyres, i had to give them a try. i'm 5'11 and weigh 170.

after putting a set of cs33specials on my LOOK 555, and taking a few rides, now they are the only tire i use. i,ve read about the long life and great wear, so i am jazzed up and ready to put some miles on 'em. i'll say to anyone, give them a try, i think you'll like what your ride has become. even more fun!

Thank you for your feedback.

i bought a pair of these early this summer and have done three centurys on them. great comfortable tire. great knowing one probably won't get a pinch flat.

i am a serious daily rider that does several centurys a year. so far these tires are the best i have owned. i plan to buy another set when my normal clinchers wear out.

Thank you for your feedback.

Reliable & easy rolling.

Not a single flat since mounting these easy rolling grippy tires. Very impressive. These tires replace Conti 25mm Gatorskins which flatted several times in the five months used them. I read several favorable reviews on these Tufo tires and thought I'd give them a try. I am a heavy 230 lbs and our roads are smooth to rough surface with exposed aggregate & cracks. Sometimes glass is unavoidable. I use the Tufo sealant. Highly recommended.

Durable, Light smooth. Good value for the money.

I use my tires for everyday fast group rides. These tires do not get pinch flats and have extra rubber where you need it, on the bead where the rubber meets the road. They are light and give excellent mileage and have a very smooth ride. You can inflate them to from 110 to 170Lbs depending on your preference. It takes a lot to cut the tire and when it does you need to patch the tire. Instead of taking a spare tube and tools, carry the Tufo sealer and a tube super glue. Super glue the cut then apply the sealer thru the value, give it a minute to set up then inflate. Fastest tire fix. You do not need to remove the wheel.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great rolling tires.

I was intrigued by the idea of no pinch flats and a lighter weight wheel set. No rim tape or heavy innertube. These tires ride quiet and you can inflate them easily to 125psi for a great rolling tire. Good grip on dry pavement, slightly less on wet roads. They corner very well. I have gotten almost 800 miles on a set with little sign of wear. Takes some work to get them on your rims initially, but once they are installed you are assured of a safe ride should you flat.

Thank you for your feedback.

Impossible To Put On

I found this tire impossible to put on. If you flatted on the road, you'd be in trouble!
