Have these on a gravel bike. They are installed with Yokozuna compression-less housing. Compared to the mechanical discs I had previously these are great. Good modulation and I really like that they were easy to set up and require no fuss to keep well adjusted. They run quiet, even in the rain. I can switch wheels without readjusting, something I couldn't do before. I like the way they look too.

I ride a 2012 Marin Muirwoods 29-er, and I love her, but was having problems with stock front brakes (Tektro Novelo mechanical disc brakes) when I put around 1900 miles on her. As most bicycle enthusiasts, I don't need much urging to pour money into my bike, so I started looking at upgrading the brakes, and going hydraulic. After a little research, and talking to my friends, I decided on this set for the front.
At first, I was a little put out, because it didn't seem like the front brake was grabbing correctly. And in fact, it wasn't. There was some shimmying going on, and the brakes wasn't really grabbing. However, my friend showed me how to dial it in, and how easy it is to adjust hydraulic brakes over mechanical (the hydraulic kind meets in the center, as opposed to pushing the rotor into the brake pad in the mechanical). Now, it grips extremely well, and I feel really confident about my stopping ability, which means a lot to me here in Portland.
My back brake is fine for now, but I likely will be upgrading them next summer, and when I do that, I'll definitely go with this bad boy.

I bought the Hyrd brakes to replace the Avid BB7, and they perform 100% better! They don't squeal or need constant adjustment. They don't rub and actually will stop you... only issue. you need to pull the lever in allot before the brakes start to work.
bottom line.. better then any other mech brake I've used, almost in par with a hydraulic setup.

I put the 140 mil on the rear of a carbon frame 29er. I'm using a Paul Component lever. The compact design is great. The weight is low on the bike! Also WHEN you crash, not IF, you run far less risk of damaging an expensive brake lever. For the $$ it is a great brake, the Rotor was perfectly true, set up was super easy! I'm still wIting for the 160mil, I will eventually put that on the front. Great for cyclocross also.. WAY better than Avid BB7's which I have on my C-Xbike.. They will be replaced with these soon.
