This is my forth different dropper seat post that I have tried, and to date, it is my favorite. There are several features that make it stand out to me. First, it is cable actuated. The hydraulic actuated post need to be bled, plus can be difficult to set up. Thomson uses standard brake housing with derailleur cable, so it is easy to replace if you need to. Second, it has 5 inches of travel, while it is not always needed, it is nice to have on steep descents to get the saddle out of the way. Third, it has infinite travel. I have used the post that have three positions,and hunting to find the right spot while riding is not convenient sometimes. Forth, it is the smoothest dropper that I have used. Everything, from the handlebar mounted switch, the actual post itself seems effortless. The one gripe that someone might have is that the cable is exposed to the elements and suspension. All my droppers have been this way, but I have never had a problems with it. Thomson has a hidden cable model now, if it is a concern. My only complaint is the price. It is certainly on the high side of the price range for droppers. I caught mine on sale here on BTD for less then I could get it anywhere else. That said, it has not disappointed me yet, and has been worth the extra cost over the others.
